Despite a 3-1 record in the UFC, Gerald Harris has been cut from the UFC roster following his loss to Maiquel Falcao at UFC 123!

Wow… I hope MFC picks this guy up, he'd be an instant contender for their MW Title!

Very surprised. He stopped his first three opponents as well. His previous fight against Branch ended in that ferocious slam KO.

Looks like it's gonna be a lot harder to keep your job in the UFC now with the influx of the WEC fighters!

Zuffa totally screwed harris… 3 undercard fights against undefeated prospect… then he loses 1 fight and they cut him…. hope Bellator picks him up and treats him better

Something definately fishy about that cut. He had won 10 straight fights, and 3 in the UFC. He must have pissed off the UFC brass somehow. I wonder if it had to do with that time clock controversy.

They are making an example of him because of his pitiful 3rd round. They will put up with a lot but not a fighter who fights without urgency in a fight they are badly losing.

I think its a combo of what Robin said and perhaps a pre-emptive strike to show the UFC wasn't protecting Harris with the whole clock fiasco. All the best to Harris though, met him a few years ago at a NAGA tournament – stand up guy. I'm sure he'll be back in no time.

I agree with Robin here, but I'm struggling with that mentality. I mean, why not just put him against harder guys in undercard to see what he's made of? It's robbing a man of a job and a chance to prove himself for not much. Yeah he was apathetic in the third, but he was also tired and mentally beaten. These things happen when you fight. Falcao would be then equally guilty for not finishing

I was surprised they never gave him a shot right after TUF. I was glad to see them sign him and he went on a good streak. He did not fight to expectations last weekend and sometimes people need to be made an example of. If he puts together a win or two he'll be back in the show
