Lets keep a list of these. I find way to often that tournies come and go in the west and many people have no idea about them. If you know of a tournie, post some details here.

I think there is a Franco Behring tourney and a Jeremy Horn seminar in Winnipeg this weekend. Horn is at CKMTC/Mundurucas, not sure where the tourney is. The two are not related.

The Series 2011 at Arashi Do Edmonton and Calgary… Just got an e-mail from Mike Yakulic about the dates for the series this year, I'll just post the whole e-mail here!

Big news for the Series this year.

Gary Vig out of Arashi Do in Calgary and I are joining forces to make the Series even better this year.

4 dates will be held each in Calgary and in Edmonton.

Events will be on the same day.

Your top 3 scores will be counted to see who leads each division.

After the 4 events have been finished we will take the top 4 people in each weight class and have the Northern and Southern Alberta competitors compete for the Championship Title Belt.

Propsed dates are:

Series 1 – April 8

Series 2 – May 7 or 14

Mind Body Soul – June 4 or 11 (just so you know when it'll be)

Series 3 – Aug 27

Series 4 – Oct 8

Finals held at the Brock Myrol Memorial – Nov 12

Divisions will be held for:

Children 7-9

Children 10-12

Teens 13-16

Adults 16 and up

The purpose joining together is to get more of the southern Alberta people involved, and making this more of a Provincial caliber tournament Series.

Please check the calander at http://www.arashido.com as the dates get closer for rules, times, costs etc.

We are deciding now whether the championship will be only No Gi or BOTH No Gi AND BJJ.

Please let us know.

Mike Yackulic
