Ryan Jimmo and Krzysztof Soszynski are Canada's best Light-Heavyweights.

Ryan Jimmo (13-1) has reeled off 13 straight wins against fighters such as Wilson Gouveia, Marvin Eastman, Dwayne Lewis, and Emanuel Newton fighting for the MFC.

Krzysztof Soszynski (22-10-1) just beat Goran Reljic at UFC 123 and has also beaten Stephan Bonnar, Brian Stann, and Andre Gusmao en route to an impressive 5-2 record in the big show.

What's interesting is the two crossed paths fighting to get into The Ultimate Fighter 8 house. Jimmo took on the "Juggernaut" Antwain Britt (11-4) who has since made it to Strikeforce, while Krzysztof…

Gotta love both guys.

Krzysztof gets the nod from me. I feel like he's battle tested more. Not talking about opponents, just he's been able to show his chin and commitment to winning in his fights.

Love to see Jimmo in another big one soon.

I'd have to give Kryzstof the nod with the level of his competition and the stage he fights on.

Pavelich already hates me so whatever, but I'd rank "that other company" over MFC.

That being said, Jimmo needs to be in the UFC!

Its funny how everyone right away considers the UFC talent that KSOS beat are better than the MFC fighters that Jimmo beat.

Bonnar lost to a aging, unimpressive Mark Coleman and Krzsyztof won (but should have been No Contest) and lost to Bonnar. I think Jimmo takes Bonnar down and wins that fight.

Also, two guys that Krzsyztof beat were immediately released by the UFC (Primm, Gusmao) and I am pretty sure that Reljic will be released as well with three losses in a row. When Bonnar lost to KSOS, it was his third loss in a row, and most fighters would be released by the UFC by then. Are these guys that much better than Gouveia, Eastman, and Newton?

I'm adding way more factors to it than the opponents and matchups alone.

Just the fact that Ksos is 5-2 in the big show is huge considering all the pressure, the lights, and watching him, I don't think anybody else in the UFC enjoys it more than him. He can't even do a walkout or listen to Buffer without getting into it. He's very relaxed and has done well against average guys.

I think they should have to fight each other for this debate to be settled.

I'd really like to see JImmo's robot in the UFC.

I will leave the rankings to the experts since I am uneducated in the process.  To me its a mystery like quarterback rankings.  This poll is about the "what if" factor.  What if they fought one another?  It is pretty clear that these two guys are the clear top shelf of Canadian LW fighters.  When looking at some of the comments I think the issue gets missed a little.  Everyone knows the UFC is the top organization in the world, like it or not.  Based on this I would give the point to Krzsyztof.  If you look at records then the point goes to Ryan for 13 in a row.  I won't debate the talent of past opponents because to me it is a subjective mess.  What I will point out that seems to be forgotten by so many people is the fact that although the UFC may be the top org, they have plenty of average guys wading around the talent gene pool waiting for their next beating.  Remember not everyone there is better than everyone else.  I suppose as his brother I am a little biased but as one of Ryan's biggest fans I also consider myself an objective critic (thanks Dad).  All things considered I would give the win to Ryan and here's why:

When looking at the standout champion fighters in the sport of MMA, they are fighters who manage to time and time again defend their title.  We still await a HW guy like that in the UFC.  Once these guys make it to the top they stay there or very near because they possess an unmeasureable skill.  One that doesn't show up in statistics.  They avoid the knockout swing of aggresive fighters where others get caught.  They slip from a fluke submission that catches the less talented.  These kind of speed bumbs litter most fighters records because they don't have "it".  Everyone looses eventually but somehow the cream of the crop nowadays can manipulate round after round securing another win.  This is a quality I believe Ryan has.  He hasn't yet realized his full potential and the great thing is he would be the first person to point that out.  It will take a top notch fighter to stop Ryan and they are out there but Krzsyztof isn't it in my opinion.  Canada's #1 LW…Ryan Jimmo.

The results were 150 votes for KSOS and 149 votes for Jimmo from his mom and one from me.  :)

Poll is still open, but I removed from the front page to make room for an ad.  I will add it to the bottom of the home page and remove it when the LHW rankings come out.

I recently did a post ( http://www.mmaoutbreak.com/ent…..om-UFC-123 ) where I talk about the idea that KSOS gets as much out of his modest athletic talent as anyone in the UFC.  Obviously the popular Polak is a better athlete than you'll find down at your local Y, but I mean as far as the elite level of professional fighting is concerned.  His mental toughness is his greatest asset in my opinion.  He would be a really intimidating dude to square off with, I've never seen him look remotely scared.

Not only does he not look scared when he fights… he looks like a kid in a candy shop! I love his enthusiasm when he steps into the cage. You can see that he genuinely loves what he does!
