Seeing as this community is hands down the heart of Canadian MMA, I'm interested to see what you guys think of my blog on the top 10 Canadian fighters of all time.  I know it will receive some backlash as all lists do (there are only 10 spots after all).

Here is the list, the full write-ups for each fighter are in the link:

1 – Georges. St Pierre
2 – Carlos Newton
3 – Denis Kang
4 – David Loiseau
5 – Joe Doerksen
6 – Patrick Cote
7 – Sam Stout
8 – John Alessio
9 – Jason MacDonald
10 – Mark Hominick

Hon. mention – Ivan Mejivar, Jonathan Goulet, Mark Bocek, Chris Horodecki

Bocek is ahead of many on that list. And Hominick is fighting for the UFC title and should be higher.

3 – Joe Doerksen

4 – Georges St. Pierre

5 – Joe Doerksen

6 – Denis Kang

7 – Joe Doerksen

8 – Mark Hominick

9 – Sam Stout

10 – Joe Doerksen

I think Goodridge needs some love simply for his elbow demolition of Paul Herrera to smithereens.

Lots of love for all of the Canadian fighters, but as an all-time list I feel that fighters like Newton, Loiseau, Doerksen, and Alessio definitely deserve their spots, while I feel as though Cote, Stout, MacDonald, and Hominick have done more than some other current fighters.  Only 10 spots it sucks to leave some of them off!

As for Rory MacDonald, an amazing talent at only 21 years old, but he has no place on an all-time list yet imo, he's just getting started.

Are you putting Loiseau there based on early flashes of brilliance?

I don't mean any disrespect to Dave. But his inconsistency could make it tough for some people to put him that high.

Carvalho could also be on this list.

I think Loiseau was an amazing fighter in his prime.  Also, Ivan Salaverry is a personal favourite of mine, but I couldn't justify putting him above a lot of the guys.

Carvalho is awesome, sucks about his fight falling through I've got tickets to that show.  I expect he'll be in the UFC by years end.
