guess that answers my question, wounder who will pick him up, dont see him leaving for a rival like Strikeforce cause I imagine he wants back in the UFC, I see him jumping in with a Canadian show to get a few wins under his belt.  Maybe Cote vs Kang for the belt?

Maybe a return to MFC to defend his belt?

I can see that possible long as they allow him a contract that will allow him to return to the UFC if he gets a call so hes not stuck like Alessio with a contract but I am not sure if they would do that.  I would love to see Tom Watson vs Pat Cote though!

I don't think it's the worst thing to happen to guys these days. (Getting released by UFC)

All guys have to do is keep winning and they are back. Look a guy like Doerksen he's been released twice and when he continued to win, he was asked back.

At least they have an opportunity to fight elsewhere, possibly more often, and UFC vets typically get decent paydays from the name they build being a UFC fighter.

This is a good point, the time in the UFC is not a waste, it gives them better paydays for the rest of their career.

Pat will be back, no doubt.

Pat would also look good in the MFC, there's some good  and stylish fights there for him, Watson, Hutcherson, Heath,

I'd rather see Pat fight guys like the ones I'd mentioned as they'd more than likely stand and trade with him, JT Money will try to wrestle Pat and grind the fight down. If guys stand with Cote, you're very likely to see exciting fights.

That's why I'd enjoy Cote vs Watson, they would bang it out for sure.

For sure, Hutcherson and Heath would have big slugfests with Cote as well.  Heath vs Hutcherson was sick.

It was sick, I fricken lost it after the spinning backfist, then I needed a moment of recovery after the superman punch finish.

Heath vs Cote for a 185lb title after Heath destroys Texeira? or does Cote need to fight an MFC 185'er and get a W before a title shot?

I feel that Patrick Cote would be better off as a welterweight personally.
