MFC LW Title Fight At Risk After A Franca KO Loss??

After MFC's largest show in Ontario where we saw a comeback win with Hermes Franca scoring a KO win over Robert Washington looks like there was a risk that he decided to take.  Fifteen days after his MFC win he went out and fought Joshua Thorpe (10-3) and scored a first round rear naked choke.  BUT he did not stop there and went on to fight 6 days after that against 2-3 Thawa Ril and fumbled the ball and got knocked out in the 2nd round.  So that leaves me the question is he still fighting for the MFC title ? will he still get hyped up like he is on a comeback road, and why did Mark let him fight!!?

Franca was probably only on a Canadian exclusive or something. I doubt Pav would let any fighter fight for any organization other than his in the whole world if he had the choice….

So he was KO'd roughly 5 1/2 weeks before his MFC title fight?

Also, why would he fight someone that was 2-3?

Jason I have been there before, MONEY TALKS! but then see the risk/reward there did not pay off.  Thing is once you reach such a level you have to balance there things out a bit better I think. If he won he gained nothing but a pay day and a loss like this is just terrible for a fighter, like will Mark let him fight for the title?? looks BAD!

I can totally understand the payday aspect – I mean it's a livelihood… thing is, he was like 22-11 (1NC) before that fight with a title fight coming up, just doesn't make any sense at all going against someone 2-3. But then again, I don't fight so I dunno anything ;)

Franca sure gets around though – 3 fights in 21 days?

It would suck if that fight falls through!!! It should be awesome entertainment!! I am surprised it wasn't in the contract that Franca couldn't fight before the championship fight. I thought MP said he would never let someone fight for a title coming off a loss.

ya I would like to hera Mark's words on this one with Top MMA News could get an interview done, but like fights so close who can replace, I see what you mean Jason.  It was retarded of him risking this for prob a much smaller pay day also, as fighting for a pay day this is a case I would not do it cause you are risking a shot at a legit and higher regarded then most championship belt.  DUMB DUMB DUMB!!!

I miss fighting.
