Last November, if you had told Garett Davis that approximately one year later he would be fighting for the King of the Cage World Welterweight Championship, even the veteran himself may have questioned your prediction. After all, at the time, Davis had not fought in over one year and was coming off back-to-back losses; the Vancouver resident had even questioned whether he would fight again.

But after recommitting himself to the sport he’s dedicated nearly a decade to, Davis has gone 3-0 in 2010, and laid claim to the KOTC Canadian…

It'd be nice to see Davis win this, bring an international belt to KOTC might bring the name back up in Canada.

Hmmm think it needs a bit more than just a belt to bring the name back up.

My biggest beef so to speak with local MMA (and other combat sport) organizations is very few of them know how to market themselves. Case and point – for the Edmonton Fight Scene Fan Expo we had most of the major TV and newspaper coverage for our press conference. I rarely see any coverage outside of the Edmonton Sun for any of the local promotions. As well, to this day I still here "oh there's a fight tonite in town? I hadn't heard that!".

As for the last KOTC, with Riggs and Severn on the card you'd think that could have been used to generate some interest and some hype; not to mention the best venue in town for a fight card being at Rexall place.

You gotta spend money to make money!

I do not see this going the way of Davis, Mulhern is a lanky WW and knows how to use it.  His grappling is off the charts and I am a huge fan of his, so sad to say I will be cheering against the Canadian in this one.

hahaha I could not have anymore of a generic name Michael Davis…..pretty damn basic and common.  It is a name impossible to really give a nick name to also.   Mulhurn belongs in the UFC.
