The AFC regrets to inform its fans that AFC 5 "High Tides" in Halifax, N.S. has been postponed. The AFC has been approached by many people about co-promoting events in cities outside of Victoria. AFC decided to try a co-promotion with a Halifax group wanting to produce an event with the AFCs' oversight. The AFC gave the co-promoters guidance every step of the way to help them produce a smooth event. Unfortunately the Halifax co-promoters were unable to meet their time lines and tasks. Because of this the AFC has no choice but to postpone the event.

Halifax seems to be a tough market to be successful in.

Sorry to hear this. I really root for decent shows to come out east, and Darren is a solid dude. Patience, man….

I think Halifax could be a strong market but there needs to. Be a promoter that is willing to put on a couple cards and build some interest, build up some young names and make some fan favourites. Not rely on 1 or 2 guys to sell the tickets. So far in Halifax the only cards that have done well were cards that had Hollett, Grant or Jason MacKay. I think MacKay's drawing power has dropped off a lot recently. Grant's in the UFC and Hollett is at a stage where he needs big fights and the Bosse fight will determine which direction he goes.

ECC 11 at the smaller Palookas location is a good start but having 1 or 2 cards a year won't cut it. Here's hoping tonights card is well received and gets the ball rolling!

I thought afc was a solid promotion. Cancel Halifax and Battlefield has a better card in Victoria next month.
