Some of us are familiar with a lot of people that come here, but some may not be – just thought it'd be cool to start an "intro" thread…

I'm Jason, I shoot photography and do web design on the side (pixelens photography & design – http://www.pixelens.com). I've always enjoyed MMA, got out of watching it for a few years then started getting back into it. Got into the photography aspect of it in Sept '09. Shot Ryan Ford's family pics back in July and he got me a pass to TFC 8. Next up was the first Aggression show through my contacts at Fused Logic who did the video streaming. Shortly after that, Keith contacted me and asked if I'd be interested in shooting for them and the rest is history.

In 13 months I've shot 28 MMA cards, 2 boxing cards and 3 Muay Thai cards. Of the 28 MMA cards, 2 were in Lloydminster, 1 in Red Deer, 1 in Vernon and 2 in Winnipeg – 22 fight cards in Edmonton. I can only thank whoever that the fight scene is so huge in Edmonton as it's allowed me to advance very quickly in quality of shots in such a short time – I can't think of any other region that is this busy.

I've started back into the web design on the side and have done a few sites so far associated with the fight scene – revamped Top MMA News, did up Curtis Demarce and more recently ERA Fight Wear – and have more on my plate right now (another fight wear company, a couple fighters and looks like a local promotion as well).

As well, I was one of three partners in setting up the first Edmonton Fight Scene Fan Expo back in August of this year. If you hadn't heard of it, basically we pulled together the MMA, Boxing and Muay Thai organizations in Edmonton and had ten featured fighters. We had 55 or so vendors who took up 73 booth spots for our first show. Not bad for pulling something together in under 3 short months.

Anyways, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Good idea Jay,

I'm Jamie Locke.  I have been an mma fan since watching some guy in a gi kick some serious ass at UFC 1 and 2.  I wasn't a hard core fan until the first season of TUF, that got me into watching alot more events and following the local scenes.

Moving around alot, I had never really gotten the chance to get deep into a scene.  I was posted to Comox, BC upon returning from Afghanistan in the summer of 09. I then answered a craigs list ad looking for someone to cover local mma events on Vancouver Island, I wrote Keith some UFC predictions and got the job. I also had Darcy James renting out my basement suite, and he introduced me to all the main players on the Island. I covered three events for TMN, AFC 2, KOTC Uprising 2 and Aggression Trilogy. Through these events I met alot of fighters, coaches, trainers, promoters and everything in between. Through talking with fighters I realised there wasn't much being offered as far as managemnt goes and guys were not really seeing the paychecks or sponsorships they deserve as professionals. I then decided to start my own talent/ management agency to help some of these guys out, and take my place in the mma scene. Although I am still a regular force soldier, working full time at a desk, I fired up Tageisei (pronounced Tag-I-C and is Japanese for versatile) Management Agency. I know have a large stable of fighters and am working my ass off booking fights and securing sponsorships, I am just happy to be involved in the game, and to have found a place I can be useful, as you'll never see me in a cage getting punched in the face.

So, thanks to TMN for getting me set-up in this sport. I have met alot of people in the sort time I have been involved and I learn and take away a greta deal from each experience.

MMA has grown alot in the past 10 years, and I imagine it has a long way to go yet. There are plenty of driven people in Canada with the best intentions for the sport, hopefully we can all work together to make this sport as perfect as we can. First step, legalization in all the provinces!

My name is Kurtis Loth and I am the Canadian Agent for Triple Crown Fighter.  I have been in the scene for about 6 months now and just getting started.

I have been a huge fan of the sport for years, and after looking for some representation for some of my friends who are pro fighters, Jake Hirsch offered me the spot with Triple Crown Fighter.  I am slowly building my client base and getting my name out there, and having a great time doing it! I like to train casually around my work schedual also, and I train out of Alliance Martial Arts in Saskatoon under Graham Weenk.  Alliance is home to fighters such as Kurt Southern, Adam Lorenz, Tyson Steele and Ford Roberson. Great group of guys! I also represent Eric Wilson from Way of the Dragon Martial Arts(Dave Mah, Ian McWalter) and Janz Stein out of Complete MMA(Aj Scales).

My day job is Performance Plus Distributors, the top speed shop in the province.  We do everything from custom wheels, performance parts to professional drag and drift cars.  I personally specialze in the custom wheels (Dub, Foose, Lexani, Asanti, Forgiato, etc) and Import/Sport compact (Honda, Nissan, Toyota, etc), but our shop has a strong domestic and 4x4/Diesel side as well.  We have a chassis dyno in shop for custom tuning, and one of our drag cars is Canada's fastest street car (6.72 @ 209mph)

My current projects are a 2002 Lexus IS300 that I swapped a japanese 2JZGTE Twin Turbo engine in.. (Toyota Ariso/Supra engine). It should be finished here fairly soon and i'll be looking at about 400hp out of it.  I also have a 65 Chevy Impala, lowered on 100 spokes…….and its pink! I also am a moderator on the 306motorclub.com for Saskatchewan auto enthusiasts.

Its great that I have made two of my passions into my carreer…… Cars and Fights! I look forward to making it out to the future events and meeting some of you in person!

Any questions feel free to PM me on here!

-Kurt

Hi all, my name is Robin Black.

Im a foofy foof and i like to wear make up and braid hair. Sometimes i like girls, but most of the time i think they are icky. I once had an orgy with Fidel Castro and some of his sons and daughters, it was intense. I was seeing double rainbows for days. Almost triple rainbows, OMG.

I really the sound of my own typing. Especially when i read it in my head, in my own voice and incorporate they sound of my fingers hitting the keys as i type it and read it.

I want Sean Quinn and the Big Rig.

Giggity.

Hi all! My name is Marc-Andre Drolet.

*takes a hit from the bong*

Whats up y'all. I used to fight, but i dont anymore. I dont remember why i stopped. *takes a hit from the bong*  I like puppies, Dionne's, Sean's and stuff that is green. *slurps on a slurpee*

Ive got this super awesome popcorn machine that makes sounds and plays movies, but i cant figure out where the popcorn goes. I like to use it to watch fights and stuff. *takes a hit*  I wish Robin was around more often to cuddle with me, Dionne and *slurps the slurpee* the puppies. Robin is hung like the cutest young lady.

Anyways, I got started in mma when someone tried to jack my weeds. I was like "Yo, gimme back my weeds!" then he was all like "Make me beotch!". Then I was all like "Get in my guard, homie!"

Anyways i woke up a while later with a sore arm and handcuffs on.

Fucking Desautels.
