Canadian MMA Rumour Mill – July 11, 2019

Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion Julia Budd is set to defend her title this weekend against Olga Rubin. Should she get the win, Budd has expressed interest in a Rizin crossover fight against undefeated powerhouse Gabi Garcia… Do you think Budd could score the first victory over Garcia?
…and now for the rumours!
- The Octagon will return to Vancouver for the first time in over three years for UFC on ESPN+ 16 on September 14 and the first Canadian announced is Mischa Cirkunov who will face Jim Crute at Light-Heavyweight.
- Unified 38 goes down September 27th in Edmonton and will mark the 10th anniversary of the promotion and they’ll crown some new champs to celebrate the occasion. With Tanner Boser signing with the UFC, Christian Larsen faces Jared Kilkenny for the now vacant Heavyweight Title, Teddy Ash will be permanently staying at Middleweight and Graham Park will fight for the vacant Light-Heavyweight Title and Neal Anderson will also compete on the card!
- Jesse Ronson has joined the Professional Fighters League Season 2 Lightweight roster and will take on Carlao Silva, Jeremy Kennedy will look to score some points against Steven Siler in Featherweight action. Both fighst will take place at PFL 2019: #5 on July 25.
- Unfortunately for Sarah Kaufman her opponent Roberta Samad did not make weight for tonight’s PFL regular season bout and the fight has been cancelled. On the plus side Sarah Kaufman has been awarded 3 points, paid her show and win money and secured her spot in the playoffs.
- Arjan Bhullar has completed his UFC contract with a record of 3-1 inside the Octagon and has chose to move on and sign with ONE Championship. A fight agreement has also been inked but an opponent has not yet been announced.
- TKO will return this fall for TKO 49 on September 13 and will see Malcolm Gordon defend his Flyweight title against Japanese contender Takashi Matsuba, also on the card is a Welterweight bout between undefeated prospects Dany Malette and Yohan Lainesse.
- Rumble in the Cage goes down October 19 and will see Tim Tamaki take on Chris Day for the Featherweight Title.

- ONE Championship’s 100th event will take place October 13 in Tokyo, Japan. Bibiano Fernandes will take on Kevin Belingon for the Bantamweight (145lb) Title for the fourth time. Fernandes leads the series 2-1 after Belingon was DQ’d due to illegal elbows in their last bout.
- Also on the card Angela Lee will defend her Atomweight (115lbs) title against the only women to defeat her in Xiong Jingnan who successfully defended her Strawweight (125lb) title against Lee in March. Lee is also still scheduled to face Michelle Nicolini at Strawweight later this month.
Well if Budd fought Garcia it’d be Garcia’s first legit MMA challenge and Budd while obviously much smaller would have superior striking to Garcia’s horrible stand up game
Well-loved!

Maybe if Budd fought Garcia she could use that stand up she is known for instead of her boring wrestling she has been using for her last 47 fights.
BAH AHAHAHAHAHAH
LOL at Graham Park getting a title shot
After getting choked out by MARCUS HICKS, Graham beat 3 cans (Showtime. a guy who is 2-7 and a guy from Sask who doesnt even train)
Bet they find him an utter bum from the Yukon or somewhere lol lol
Unified is a joke, just caters to all the YEG fighters
Ah well
Hot debate. What do you think?

Wow man. Just wow. LOL Thats alot of research and stats man lol lol
Like i knew that 90% of the posters on this site are from Edmonton, but jesus lol lol
Do you wash Grahams car as well? Maybe clean his house?
Graham got choked out by MARCUS HICKS in the 1st round. Enough said my dude LOL
I’m trying to think of LHW’s that will roll Graham hmm hmmm
Sheldon Doll from Lee Mein’s camp would murder him
I actually cant think of any other LHW’s that are active. Calgary must have a couple that would roll Graham, BC prolly has a bunch as well
Dont forget to shine those car rims and wax the car too buddy :)
Hot debate. What do you think?

@The Mack Daddy
If you read what I wrote and believe it is in support of a title fight not sure what I can say.
I broke it down and said he has beat just 1 person that holds a winning record
just put his stats up so people can make their own opinions I didn’t offer my opinion
My opinion is that he is getting a title shot due to team dynamics and the promoter not wanting to bring in outside talent

Mack Daddy, for such a smart guy you should learn how to read.
whowillwin was making the same point as you, only with evidence instead of trying to be a sh*t talker like you.
90% of the posters may be from Edmonton, but at least theyre not complete morons.

If you have an issue with the Graham Park title fight what about the heavy weight title fight ?
Christian Larsen is 4-1 riding a 2 fight win streak vs Jared Kilkenny who is 13-11
Kilkenny 13 wins
6 Debuting fighters
4 fighters with losing records at the time he fought them
3 fighters with winning records at the time he fought them
And is on a 2 fight losing streak right now
So a guy who has lost his last 2 fights and has only beaten 3 people with a winning record gets a shot at the title ?
