Canadians in Combat – July 2019

Top MMA News will be focusing exclusively on Canadian MMA and taking a step back from posting UFC, Bellator, PFL and other fight cards unless they take place in the Great White North! With that being said at the beginning of each month we’ll be posting a list of Canadian fighters that will be competing outside Canada.
As the fights occur we will update this post with the results and Top MMA News will continue to be your #1 Source for Canadian MMA News even if the fights happen in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Oklahoma, Malaysia, England, Jamaica or anywhere else in the world!
Also don’t forget about UFC 240 in Edmonton, Alberta on July 27. The main card begins at 8pm et on PPV, the televised prelims will begin at 6pm et on TSN and UFC Fight Pass prelims start at 5pm et. There will be 7 Canadian fighters on the card so tune in!

Is mma phasing out in Canada? Not a lot of news or shows being promoted… noticed when reebok was signed by the UFC it put a stop to a lot of brand names like tap out and venom and sinister mma gear etc. Kind of killed mma on the regional circuits.

-Jesse Ronson now faces Season 1 Lightweight Winner Natan Schulte
From MMA Fighting:
“Ronson wasn’t given the option to accept a walkover and [earn] 3 points. Nor was he given option to fight original opponent Silva to earn bonus points by finish,” Daniel Rubenstein said on Twitter. “Asked if he could fight Shulte, but be given the 3 points — told no. His “options” were to accept Schulte or not fight/get paid.”
