Ash Defends Crown Against UFC Veteran Steele in Unified 35 Headliner

EDMONTON — Teddy Ash defends his Unified MMA Middleweight Championship against UFC vet Dominique Steele in the main event of Unified 35 on Dec. 7 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB.

Ash, 28, is riding high with six straight wins, most recently taking out 11-time UFC vet Seth Baczynski with a fifth-round knockout in the main event of Unified 34. The Edmonton and Fort McMurray fighter is hoping to punch his ticket to the UFC before Christmas with a big win over another big-show vet.

“I want to keep taking tougher and tougher fights to challenge myself, and this is exactly the kind of challenge that I live for,” says Ash, a proud owner of eight stoppage victories as a professional. “Unified keeps bringing guys who have been in the UFC for me to knock out and show everyone that I’m one of the best middleweights in the world.”

Meanwhile, Dominique Steele, a former UFC Fight of the Night bonus winner, has a simple message for Ash and Unified MMA fans.

“We tend to learn wisdom through suffering,” the five-time UFC vet and former CES MMA champ says with a grin, “and Dec. 7 I intend to make you very wise”

Unified 35, which goes down Dec. 7 at River Cree Resort & Casino in Enoch, AB., features a pair of other championship bouts. Clay Dixon battles Craig Shintani for the vacant Unified MMA Featherweight Title, while Michael Hay meets Jamie Siraj for the vacant Bantamweight Championship.
