Two BC Fighters Get Next UFC Fights Announced

Jeremy Kennedy

This week, the UFC announced confirmed two bouts featuring athletes from British Columbia.

The first bout announced was a UFC 221 fight featuring the unbeaten Jeremy Kennedy (11-0) who will be taking the thirteen hour flight to Australia to take on Alex Volkanovski (16-1). The two Featherweights have won their first three UFC fights and had been previously booked to face off at UFC Fight Night 121 before Kennedy pulled out with an injury.

Surrey’s Kennedy has beaten Kyle Bochniak, Rony Jason, and fellow Canadian Alex Ricci in his first three UFC bouts by Unanimous Decision. He will be on enemy territory on February 10 as UFC 221 will be taking place in Vokanovski’s home country of Australia. Volkanovski has beaten Yusuke Kasuya, Mizuto Hirota, and Shane Young in his UFC career.

Sarah Moras

Kelowna’s Sarah Moras (5-2) also had a fight announced this week. The Ultimate Fighter 19 fighter will be heading to Texas to fight on the UFC Fight Night 126 card. Moras, who is 2-1 in the UFC, is coming off a quick arm bar victory over Ashlee-Evans Smith at UFC 125 following a two year layoff from the cage.

Moras will be facing Lucie Pudilova (7-2), who is 1-1 in the Octagon. Pudilova defeated Ji Yeon Kim by decision in her last bout following her UFC debut loss. UFN 126 will be held on February 18.
