Canadians Kaufman, Nichols on Invicta 27 Card

Invicta has announced its January 13th lineup for Invicta FC 27 in Kansas City, Missouri. Canadian Sarah Kaufman (18-4) will headline the card against Pannie Kianzad (8-2).

Kaufman, the former Strikeforce champion, last fought in Invicta in 2013 when she bested Leslie Smith. Following the bout, Kaufman signed with the UFC where she fought four times. Her latest match was in Battlefield where she won a decision against Jessica Rose-Clark earlier in 2017.

Pannie Kianzad will be Kaufman’s opponent. The former Cage Warriors champion won her Invicta debut in 2015 but has since lost her last two consecutive bouts in the Invicta cage.

Another Canadian, Ashley Nichols (4-1), will be appearing on the January 13th event. Nichols will make her Invicta debut against Sharon Jacobson (4-2). She finished Griet Eeckhout with punches to win the first round and then won the tourney with a decision win over Lindsay Garbatt.

Sharon Jacobson will be making her fourth appearance for Invicta, where she has gone 2-1. She lost quickly via submission to Kali Robbins at Invicta 25.
