Two New Bouts Added to UFC 215 Including Clarke vs. White

The Edmonton Journal reported today that Edmonton resident Mitch Clarke has been added to UFC 215 at Roger’s Place and will take on fellow Lightweight Alex White. Also announced for the card was a Welterweight contest between Rafael dos Anjos and Neil Magny.

Mitch Clarke returns to the cage for the first time in over a year and will attempt to halt a two fight skid. Posting a 2-4 record overall inside the Octagon with his most recent victory being a submission of the year candidate when he choked Al Iaquinta unconscious with a brabo choke at UFC 173. Clarke punched his ticket to the UFC with an undefeated record of 9-0 with all but two of his victories coming by stoppage.

Alex White enters this bout with a 2-3 record since signing with the UFC. White opened his UFC career as a Featherweight and went 2-2 inclduing wins over Artem Lobov and Estevan Payan before moving up to Lightweight for his most recent outing which resulted in a Unanimous Decision loss to Tony Martin. Like Clarke, White posted a 9-0 record on the regional cicuit with 8 finishes before getting the call up to the UFC.

Also announced was a Welterweight contest between former Lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and Neil Magny. dos Anjos recently made his Welterweight debut with a Unanimous Decision over Tarec Saffiedine after a pair of losses at Lightweight and holds a 15-7 record overall in the UFC. Neil Magny is on a strong 11-2 run inside the Octagon after a mediocre 1-2 start to his UFC career and is coming off a win over former Welterweight champ Johny Hendricks.

UFC 215 will be headlined by a pair of title fights including #1 Pound for Pound fighter in the UFC Demetrious Johnson defending the Flyweight Title against Ray Borg and Amanda Nunes defending the Women’s Bantamweight Title against Valentina Shevchenko. Also on the card Francis Ngannou meets Junior dos Santos at Heavyweight and Canadian fighters Gavin Tucker, Kajan Johnson, Sarah Moras and Arjan Bhullar will all compete as well.

    Mitch Clarke via submission in either the 1st or 2nd round!

    Mitch is way stronger and has a way better ground game.

    Mitch is much stronger on the ground and has fought way tougher opponents in the UFC. Alex was tall for FW but doesn’t have the same size advantage at LW. Mitch sub round 2
