The District Looks To Exterminate The Leech At UFC Fight Night 111


TriStar’s Jonathan Meunier will look to turn his first UFC win into a streak when he meets the extremely durable Jingliang Li at UFC Fight Night 111.

Meunier, known as “The District” made his UFC debut on extremely short notice when he took on Colby Covington at UFC Fight NIght 89 in Ottawa last June. Although he put in a game performance Covington was just to much for the then undefeated fighter forcing the tap in the final minute of the final frame. The native of Quebec City, Quebec made his sophomore Octagon outing count capturing a unanimous decision win over Richard Walsh. Now with his first UFC under his belt he will look to start a streak when he meets Li.

Li lovingly nick named “The Leech” is a former Legend FC Welterweight champion which he vacated to sign with the UFC. He made his Octagon debut in 2014 at UFC 173 where he defeated David Michaud by split decision. Since entering the UFC Li has gone 4-2 with 3 TKO/KO finishes. Currently he is riding a 2 fight win streak stopping both Anton Zafir and Bobby Nash.

UFC Fight Night 111 goes down June 17th from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in  Kallang, Singapore. The card is headlined by a woman’s Bantamweight bout between former champion Holly Holm and former title challenger Bethe Correia along with a Welterweight bout between former Lightweight king Rafael Dos Anjos and Tarec Saffiedine.
