Canadian MMA Rumour Mill – April 26, 2017

TUF 26 tryouts will happen May 23 in Las Vegas, Nevada! The UFC is casting Men’s Middleweights and Women’s Strawweights. Which Canadians do you think deserve a shot in the Ultimate Fighter House.

Here come the rumours…

  • Former UFC Strawweight title challenger Valérie Létourneau has officially signed a multi-fight contract with Bellator.
  • Sounds like Mike Kent has replaced Teddy Ash against Julien Leblanc at Prestige FC VII in Fort McMurray on May 12.
  • Teddy Ash will instead meet Nick Campbell in a Light-Heavyweight bout at Unified 31 in Edmonton on June 9. Campbell returns from a brief retirement after vacating the Light-Heavyweight title prior to Unified 30.
  • Add another big name Canadian to the Absolute Championship Berkut roster as Yoni Sherbatov has signed a contract with the Russian based promotion.
  • Battlefield Fight League 48 has a couple new additions as Jared Revel takes on Joe LeVasseur at Middleweight and Craig MacLean welcomes Tyler Nicholson to the pro circuit in a Bantamweight bout.
  • Hard Knocks 55 has been pushed back from May to October as the promotion will be focusing on future expansion, possibly into some new markets.
  • With Hard Knocks taking some time off Noah Ali will travel down to Idaho to take on Jesse Brock at Front Street Fights 12 on May 12.

  • Flyweight prospect Julian Villanova heads across the pond to take on John Shink at Fight Star Championship 9 in London, England on April 29th!
  • Kyle Nelson picked up a first round Rear-Naked Choke victory over Gabriel Manuca at RXF 26 in Romania over the weekend. Nelson’s teammate Gabe Sagman picked up a submission of his own on the card with a first round Arm-Triangle Choke over Dusa Cosmin
  • Despite Steve Bosse’s recent announcement that he would be facing Gian Villante at UFC on FOX 25, Villante is instead going to be re-booked against Patrick Cummins. Bosse is now set to take on Jarod Cannonier at the TUF 25 Finale.
  • Miles Anstead picked up a guillotine choke victory over Joe Doerksen in his no-gi grappling main event at Combate Submission International in Regina this past weekend.
  • Parwez Ghulam is set to make his pro boxing debut at Alliance Promotions May Mayhem on May 13 in Edmonton.

Whoa whoa Bobby! Dont be saying shit like that man! Chapman might read that, then realize this Forrest Cable fellow trains with a pretty legit crew and will take this fight seriously.

We wouldnt want Chapman to panic, pull out, then see him in another show a month later fighting a guys thats 0-10 and has never made it out the first round now would we?
