2017 Canadian National Amateur MMA Championships – Day 2 Results

Day 2 of the 2017 National Amateur MMA Championships went down from the Servus Soccer Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta today. The winners from today will compete in the finals tomorrow night as a part of Rumble in the Cage 54.

In addition to the finals of today’s Men’s Featherweight, Lightweight, Welterweight and Middleweight Tournaments tomorrows card will also feature the finals in the Men’s Bantamweight and Light-Heavyweight Tournaments.

The winners of each respective weight class will claim their place on the Canadian National Team and will compete at the 2017 IMMAF World Championships to be held in Bahrain from November 12-19. Sandro Celis is the lone competitor in the Men’s Heavyweight Division and will receive a bye to be part of the Canadian National Team.

Men’s Middleweight Semi-Finals

Saeid Mirzaei submits Steven Siebrecht by Rear-Naked Choke in Round 1, 2:21

Men’s Welterweight Semi-Finals:
Jared Tordoff submits Usman Khattak by Triangle Choke in Round 1, 1:34

Men’s Lightweight Semi-Finals:
John Nguyen defeats Nick Rovers-Leblanc by TKO (Punches) in Round 2, 2:49
William Vasquez defeats David MacLeod by Unanimous Decision

Men’s Featherweight Semi-Finals
Ali Wasuk defeats Justin Knoepfli by Split Decision
Dylan Lielke defeats Albaraa Atmeh by Unanimous Decision
