TKO 38 Adds Imperato vs. Alaoui and Capony vs. Lepont

The card for TKO 38 continues to grow with another pair of high level matchups announced by TKO officials earlier this week via their official Facebook page. Michael Imperato meets Xavier Alaoui in a Bantamweight contest while Jeremie Capony is set to take on Arnaud Lepont at Lightweight.

Michael Imperato will return to the cage for the first time in over a year and a half bringing an impressive 7-2 record including six first round submission finishes. Imperato has fought only 4 times in the last 5 and a half years although not for lack of trying as he’s had half a dozen fights cancelled for various reasons. Imperato is the last man to defeat surging prospect Jesse Arnett and also holds wins over the likes of Dimitri Waardenburg and Andrew Cseh.

Standing across the cage will be once beaten Xavier Alaoui who’s only loss came in a close split decision against one of the top Bantamweights in Canada. Alaoui entered that bout as an undefeated professional, fighting all over the world including Canada, England, Russia and Latvia. Alaoui put together a 7-0 record including his last four wins by submission. Prior to turning pro Alaoui piled up 12 amateur fights, winning all but one.

Also added to the card was undefeated Lightweight Jeremie Capony who carries with him into the cage a 5-0 record including wins over solid competition such as Remy Busierres and Mathieu Charette. Like many of his fellow pros from Quebec, Capony also has an extensive amateur background with a 11-5 record.

The man looking to hand Capony his first loss will be six time ONE Championship veteran Arnaud Lepont. The Frenchman who currently fights out of Vietnam holds an 11-5 record and will be fighting for the first time outside of Asia or Europe. Lepont has 8 submissions among his 11 career victories.

TKO 38 goes down April 7 from the Tohu Circus Arts Hall in Montreal, Quebec. In the main event Jesse Ronson returns to Lightweight to face Derek Gauthier who’s coming off a huge upset win over Chris Horodecki. Also on the card Charles Jourdain takes on Maxime Dubois and TJ Laramie meets Alex Morgan both at 145lbs. The entire card will air live on both The Fight Network at UFC Fight Pass and you can get tickets by calling (514) 700-0999.

Imperato is a bum and I Alaoui smashes him and then he wont be relevant at all anymore.

Imperato is no bum. He beat Arnett and Wardenberg.
He has a wicked Jitz game. Possibly the best Jitz at 135 lbs in Canada (no including UFC fighters)

Why the hate homie? I get Imperato is hated by alot of people, but dont say he’s a bum. He is very skilled.

    Well-loved! Thumb up 17 Thumb down 8

The Grand Wizard has submission skills but Xavier will be ready.

  5. Shocker says:

Imperato has some skills…I will agree to that. But he wouldn’t beat Jesse or Dimitri today. Arnett took the fight on 2.5 weeks notice and was injured…so I can guarantee that if they ever met again it would be a different story…with Arnett ko’ing Imperato

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 1 Thumb down 8

  6. Real shocker says:

First he is a bum then he has some skill. These are all great fighters and they will all do well. It would be nice to see imperato more active. The guy fights once a year if he is lucky.
