It was hot and humid at the Halifax Forum Multi-Purpose Room as Extreme Cage Combat held there 25th event in Nova Scotia. While the number of fights was not to the promotions ‘liking, the action of the night’s event was.

If you did not get the chance to check out last night’s action, here is how the evening’s festivities went down:

Gavin Tucker vs. Chris Coggins
Featherweight Title Bout
Round 1
Tucker hits Coggins with a kick to the chest. Tucker then moves in with an overhand left. Coggins is able to move in and land a nice combo of punches. Tucker then throws a leg kick that hits Coggins right in the head. Coggins falls down flat to the mat but Tucker hits him with a couple of punches before the ref is able to jump in and stop the fight.

Tucker retains his ECC Featherweight title

Ryan Potter vs. Alex Paul
Round 1
The fight starts off slow but both men end up in the clinch where a couple of strikes are exchanged. Potter is able to climb on Paul like a tree on his back. Potter loses control and Paul is able to get him on the mat. Potter attempts a guillotine off his back but Paul is able to punch him a couple of times to loosen the hold. Both fighters are back on the feet with Paul looking for a headlock while Potter looks for the single leg. The fight ends up on the ground with Paul getting in top position and hits him with a couple of punches before both men are back on their feet. Both men are back in the clinch but Paul gets him on the ground again. Potter is able to use his feet to push off the cage and is able to move around and get a heel hook attempt but can’t hold on. Potter tries to get on top but Paul is able to stay in control. Paul then starts raining down elbows on Potter’s head. The referee warns Potter to defend himself but Paul elbows prove to be too much and catches one on the ear when the fight ends.
Alex Paul defeats Ryan Potter by TKO (Strikes) at 2:58 in the 1st round

Don Wonch vs. Kris Lee
Round 1
Wonch hits Lee with a couple of kicks to the body but misses on a roundhouse. Lee is able to hit Wonch with a jab. Lee then pins Wonch against the cage. Lee is able to take down Wonch with the leg sweep. Lee is in full mount and able to land some deadly shots before he lets Wonch get up, but Lee baits him into a guillotine choke and is able to get him to tap
Kris Lee submits Don Wonch by (Guillotine Choke) at 1:26 in the 1st round

Andrew Thomas vs. Marc Herbert
Round 1
Thomas wastes no time and charges at Herbert and pins him against the cage. Thomas gets him down and hits him with a couple of punches before Herbert gets back on his feet. Thomas hits him with a knee but Herbert is able to pin him against the cage. Thomas regains control and gets Herbert back on the mat. Thomas then starts hitting Herbert with his right hand repeatedly before the ref stops the fight.

Liam Walsh vs. Jake Reid
Round 1
Walsh moves in fast to start the fight with both men getting into a tangle. Reid is able to get Walsh in the clinch but Walsh hits him with some shots to the body. The fight then ends up on the ground with Walsh looking for the triangle choke off his back. Reid hits him with a knee to try and break the hold but he turns around as Walsh maneuvers around and looks for the arm bar. Walsh lets go and gets into a north south position before he gets into half guard. Reid is able to get up but Walsh gets him pinned against the cage. Walsh gets his back and looks for the german suplex but is slowly able to take him to the ground to finish the round

Round 2
Reid is able to rebound as he hits Walsh with a couple of punches before he gets him to the ground. Reid works in some good shots to the body before Walsh looks for the triangle choke again. Reid is able to block the submission and gets him into side control. Reid then starts hitting Walsh with knees to the body that are doing some serious damages. Reid looks to get back up but decides to stay on the ground. Walsh then looks for the triangle but is unable to secure it. Reid hits with Walsh a couple of right hands that knocks out Walsh. Reid hits him again to wake him up as the ref stops it.
Jake Reid defeats Liam Walsh by TKO (Ground and Pound) at 2:34 in the 2nd round

Jake Kelly vs. Charles Haskett
Round 1
Haskett lands a good jab and then looks for the takedown to start the match. Kelly is able to get Haskett in a guillotine choke but Haskett is able to break the hold and let Kelly get back up. Kelly is able get his back and looks for the slam but doesn’t have the strength but is able to get the takedown. Haskett looks for the guillotine but can’t get it fully sunk in. Kelly is able to move into side control and then hooks on this his back. Kelly is able to lock in the rear naked choke but Haskett holds on as long as he could before he taps.
Jake Kelly submits Charles Haskett by (Rear Naked Choke) at 2:09 in the 1st round
