ECC 25 Weigh In Results
For the 25th Anniversary, usually the gift to give is silver. With Extreme Cage Combat celebrating their 25th event tomorrow night, they have gone against the grain and the main event will receive gold via the featherweight title. Champion Gavin Tucker will defend his belt for the first time as he takes on American Chris Coggins. Tucker was originally slated to face Jesse Landwehr but he had to pull out over a back injury.
The weigh ins for Saturday’s event took place at the Oasis bar in Halifax this afternoon where all the fighters who were in the building were able to make weight with no issues. The fighters are allowed one extra pound for shorts with the rule of the Nova Scotia Boxing Commission. One fighter who failed to make the weigh in was Dru Hillyard who was supposed to fight Brandon Patterson on the amateur card. Promoters were not able to reach him at the time. After a few hours, I was able to speak with ECC promoter Peter Martell and he gave a brief statement on the situation.
“Basically it was crossed wires. He thought he was out and, and we thought he was in. He wasn’t cleared by the medical deadline. I told him I would try for an extension. I got it but he didn’t know. I assumed he would be in unless I told he was out. He thought the opposite.”
While the card has been knocked down to six fights, there are still some intriguing match ups including an amateur bout between Andrew Thomas and Marc Herbert that could steal the show. If you’re interested in checking out the show there are limited seats available at the Halifax Forum Box Office. Doors will open for the show at 6pm and the event is expected to start at 7:30pm. *Missed Weigh In
Who misses weight on an event that was bumped one month. And to the guy that decided not to put any effort into making weight please answer what weight do u walk around at. Because of this immature move it could have cost the whole event.
This is a free event right? I cant imagine paying money for another ECC dumpster fire.
I dont think anyone missed weight he just pulled a Hicks and didnt show up haha.
Few fights this whole event might last a hour
