Nallo Meets Wallace for Elite 1 Lightweight Gold


Elite 1-Wallce vs. NalloAn incredible Lightweight Title fight is going down at Elite 1 MMA: Meltdown next month. Undefeated rising stars Shawn Wallace and Mandel Nallo will do battle for the vacant Lightweight Championship in Moncton on April 23. Elite 1 MMA announced match-up yesterday on their Facebook page.

Mandel Nallo has also had a very successful start to his career. After notching five wins in six fights during his amateur career, Nallo made the jump to pro and has since rattled off four straight finishes in his four pro outings. The Tristar product most recently submitted tough veteran Jose Rodriguez by Rear-Naked Choke at the inaugural Prestige Fight Club pro event in Weyburn in October. Nallo’s only loss over his MMA career came to current UFC Lightweight Olivier Aubin-Mercier on the Amateur circuit back in 2011.

Shawn Wallace enters the bout on a 6 fight win streak to start his MMA career. The Wulfrun MMA representative has finished five of his six opponents inside the distance and holds victories over the likes of Eric St. Pierre, Jeremy Henry and most recently Trent Moses. Wallace will look to notch the biggest win of his career and make a run towards the Canadian Rankings if he can get past Nallo.

Elite 1 MMA: Meltdown goes down live from their home at Casino New Brunswick in Moncton on April 23. Two other title fights are scheduled for this card including Adam Hunter defending his Middleweight Title against Bruno Lurette and Kyle Nelson doing battle with Justin Bourgeois for the vacant Featherweight Title.
