What do you do when Brandt Dewsbery and Stephen Beaumont pull out of their respective Xcessive Force Fighting Welterweight fights?

The answer, according to promoter Darren Cliffe, is an outstanding title fight between the two fighters left.

Brandt Dewsbery is out and so is Stephen Beaumont. The only logical thing to do is put Matt MacGrath vs Jesse Ronson for the XFFC Welterweight title.

Jesse Ronson alluded to this late last night, when he confirmed that he accepted an offer to step in and challenge for the XFFC Welterweight title.  At the time, he was waiting on MacGrath’s approval of the change.

Is Ronson, a former UFC Lightweight, at a distinct disadvantage in this fight?  Not really says Ronson, who says he has a speed advantage.

This bout is grappler vs striker.  We are both the same height. He’s bigger, but not much. I’m way faster.

Ronson will be coming into the title fight with a 2-1 record since leaving the UFC.  His most recent bout was to the world class Alexander “Tiger” Sarnavskiy.  Moving up to 170 to face MacGrath will be a tough challenge for “The Body Snatcher”.

Wulfrun MMA’s Matt MacGrath is tearing up the Welterweight division in Canada.  Not only is he on a seven fight win streak, but he has accumulated title from the XFFC, Elite 1 MMA, and Extreme Caged Combat.  MacGrath is 2-0 in 2015 with victories over Richard Arsenault and Michael Hill in the maritimes.

The Ronson vs. MacGrath title fight will serve as the main event of the XFFC 8 card in Grande Prairie, Alberta which is held on December 11, 2015 at the Entrec Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta.  The fight joins a previously announced Flyweight title fight between Yoni Sherbatov and Adrian Woolley.
