Canadian MMA Rumour Mill – November 13, 2015

By:

PoppyIt is Remembrance Day and Veteran’s Day depending on if you are north or south of the Canada/USA border.

Whether you agree with your country’s politics or not, the members of our armed forces deserve our respect.  Thanks to all the active military and retired veterans out there.  Fighters in the cage are athletes, you are the true warriors who are putting everything on the line for your country.

On to the rumours:

  • One athlete who is a warrior is Randy Turner.  This member of the Canadian military will get a Featherweight title shot against Austin Ryan at Havoc!   Ryan vs Turner is a much better title fight anyways.  Great job Havoc & Jesse Fox!
  • Shaolin Time!! Shane Campbell will return to the Octagon in February!
  • I keep hearing that Josh Hill and Hakeem Dawodu will have their next fights on a WSOF card (not against each other).  No solid word though.  Put this rumour at a measly 15%.  Anyone else hearing anything?
  • Peter Nolan and Mike Kent will not be fighting at Hard Knocks due to an injury to Kent.  Guess we’ll have to wait that much longer to see Nolan return to the cage.
  • Remember that Yoni Sherbatov fights tonight.  He easily weighed in at 125.5 for the bout.

  • XFFC offered Sabah Fadai a title fight with Kyle Nelson.  Fadai’s camp claims The Monster went silent when the contract was offered. Same thing happened with Curtis Demarce. The Demon was calling Sabah out on Twitter then a non-title fight was offered and he disappeared.  Anyone want a piece of Fadai?  Here’s your chance!
  • Make sure you check out Misha Cirkunov‘s seminar on Saturday, November 14 at 12:30-2 at MTC in Windsor, Ontario located at 3090 Dougall Avenue.
  • The Real Deal Ryan Ford continues his boxing career in his home town this December.  He will face Alvaro Enriquez  (12-15-2).   Cody Ries will also be on the card to take on Ryan Wagner (5-3).

@fightfan Yes Ford will make it look easy if you look at Alvaros last 4 fights he has fought some top Opponents Arthur Beterbiev Ranked 8th in the world and Ismail Sillakh who fought for the WBO light heavyweight title. Keep doing your thing Ford.

  8. I pick ford to win this fight quite handily, seeing that he has O.G Haley in his corner, the best boxing trainer and focus pad man money can buy. I will predict ford wins by 3rd round K.O.

  9. mike says:

Wouldent say OG Haley is a boxing coach but your 100% on the best focus pad man in Edmonton. Ford wins before the 3rd

Thumb up 4 Thumb down 1

  10. I tend to disagree, OG Haley has trained, guided and cornered ford for all 4 of his decisive dominate wins in pro boxing, so I would definitely say OG is more then legit, and he is a big part of the reason why ford is pretty much the biggest draw in Western Canada in professional prize fighting, whether it be mma or boxing, the other part is fords genius at reinventing himself and marketability.

  11. Brent-Haley says:

Lol I was told about this OG Fake Haley asked if it was me posting on here and clearly its not lol People with no lives. Few things you need to know I have never said once I am a Boxing coach cause I am not Ryans trainer/coach is Milan and yes I hold pads for Ryan have been for the past 7 years and I am in the boxing gym everyday learning what I can. Hope this clears it up. Oh yeah and Dec 4th Ryan will win his fight and be 4-0

  12. Law Guy says:

Is this the same Milan Lubovac that was convicted of selling cocaine in the late 80’s in Edmonton?

This is not a rumor. This is fact and can be substantiated by Canadian Law records. Please check CANLI before you remove this post by justifying that its a “rumor”. This is a fact.

  15. mmafan says:

In the 80’s that was 30 years ago, has he been charged with anything in the last 25 years? Maybe do you think that was a wake up call and he changed his tune?

Remeber when your beloved oilers of the 80’s? How about grant furh being suspened for cocaine use?, and all the story surrounding that team? Coffee and Messier were no saints either, but i bet you give them a standing ovation when they return to rexal.

  16. Gpjones says:

Depends on charges. To be something like a level 4 boxing coach you need a clean record. And maybe this was his way of giving back after a mistake he made a long time ago.

  17. Oilcity Ryan says:

All you Ford haters can’t hate on his skill so you pick on his past. Same shit for how long now? Everybody has a past. Its what you do to correct it and the life you make after that counts.

Ryan Ford really padding his boxing “career” with another circus act against Nabil Khatib in January. Who wants to see two old guys who can’t box fight one another?

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 7 Thumb down 7

  20. MikeJones says:

Fords next opponent @PEDuser is Alvaros last 4 fights he has fought top Opponents Arthur Beterbiev Ranked 8th in the world and Ismail Sillakh who fought for the WBO light heavyweight title.

They must be padding their records too. LOL Anything else to say while sitting on your computer and wishing you could compete in the sports they do?
