Prestige FC 1 Stacks Card for Inaugural Event

Prestige Fight Club THUMB(Prestige Fight Club Press Release)

Prestige FC, the first home-grown mixed martial arts promotion in the Province of Saskatchewan, is pleased to announce several fights to the lineup for its inaugural event taking place on Saturday, October 24th at Crescent Point Place in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

Two of the newly announced bouts will take place on the main card, while the remainder of fights will be part of a stacked undercard and prelims that showcase Canadian prospects.

The first addition to the main card is a light-heavyweight clash that pits Saskatchewan talent Josh Heinz (2-1) against Brazilian Maicon da Silva Lemos (2-0). Heinz, who trains out of the highly touted Canadian Martial Arts Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta, under the watch of Lee and Jordan Mein, went undefeated as an amateur and began his pro career with two straight first-round finishes including a 10-second knockout win against Paul Grebinski.

In the other main card addition, Tristar product Ilias “Leonidas” Sanoudakis (3-0) puts his perfect record on the line against tough veteran Eric Wilson (6-6) in bantamweight action.

Sanoudakis, who is from Montreal, Quebec, has captured back-to-back first-round submission victories in his last two outings. Wilson, a native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, has earned finishes in half of his wins and has been in the cage with several notables throughout his six-year career including a full three round tussle with Josh Hill.

Highlighting the undercard of Prestige FC 1 is a welterweight showdown between two up-and-comers as Montreal’s Domenic Ruccolo (3-1) takes on Thomas “Tugboat” Richardson (2-0) of Winnipeg.

Two other prospects will try to keep their winning ways going on the undercard as Winnipeg’s Steve Roy (2-1) and hometown favorite Sheldon Leblanc (2-1) both see action.

These fights, plus the already announced main card bouts, complete a huge debut for Prestige FC:

Is Tweet vs Dalziel a mismatch? 11 fights to 1?

Normally I would totally agree, but Bobby Jo Dalziel is a pretty tough opponent.

She’s only 1-0, but that win was over Invicta FC veteran Tamikka Brents who was undefeated and weighed 158.8 pounds at weigh ins.

She’s also 6 feet tall and dropping down a weight class which will be interesting because Tweet is usually always the much taller fighter when she competes.

Also, Tweet is no doubt a well respected talent, and is actually the only women to fight both Ronda Rousey and Cyborg, however she’s 38 years old, lost both of those high profile fights in a combined 95 seconds and has a 6-5 record. She needs a bounce back fight and Bobbi Jo needs an opportunity to show she’s ready, both parties can benefit.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 8 Thumb down 8

“Also, Tweet is no doubt a well respected talent, and is actually the only women to fight be completely and totally embarassed by both Ronda Rousey and Cyborg.”

Just fixed your comment to something more truthful Cody.

Great to see a card in Saskatchewan. Tweet vs Dalziel is going to be like watching paint dry just like Tweet vs Budd. If Tweet would have remotely put up something against Cyborg or Rousey this would be a different thing, but she’s a mediocre fighter who seems in the right place at the right time in divisions that lack, looks like thanks to her husband.

Since when is there shame in getting tapped out by Ronda in less than a minute? Zingano and Kaufman all got tapped out in less that a minute by Ronda. No shame in that. Ronda is just that good.

Same goes for Cyborg. Your going to diss Tweet for getting KO’d by Cyborg?? WTF man.

  8. Looking forward to Tweet vs Dalziel.

Since 2012, Tweet is 5-2 with losses to Cyborg and Budd. No shame in that. Dalziel tore up ammy and should be a good match up for Tweet and has a chance to win.

  9. Cooperstown says:

Bobbi Jo smashes tweet on the feet.
Trains full time with killers and also 8-2 amateur record in 4oz gloves (semi pro)

I would bet on this fight anyday, any takers?
