Canada has had 73 athletes appear in the Octagon as of September 1, 2015. Those 73 fighters have combined for a total number of 189 wins vs 185 defeats.

Which fighters have had their hands raised the most times in the UFC? Here’s the list:

Top 10 All Time Number of Wins by A Canadian in the UFC

  1. Georges St-Pierre (19) – GSP is in a class by himself.  The best fighter ever from Canada.
  2. Rory MacDonald (9)* – MacDonald has the best chance to catch GSP, but is still 10 wins away.
  3. Patrick Cote (9)* – Winless in his first four UFC bouts but #2 all time now in Canadian wins.
  4. Sam Stout (9) -Although recently retired, few will forget Sammy’s impact on Canadian MMA.
  5. TJ Grant (8) – Career was on track for a title shot, but now on hiatus due to concussions.
  6. Mark Bocek (8) – 4 of Bocek’s 8 wins came by submission.
  7. Krzysztof Soszynski (6) – The only Canadian on this list who got his start in the UFC on The Ultimate Fighter.
  8. John Makdessi (6)* – One of The Bull’s wins was a rare spinning backfist KO.
  9. Jason MacDonald (6) – Few will forget his TUF Killer submission wins over Ed Herman and Chris Leben.
  10. Yves Jabouin (5)* – The Tiger has 6 wins if you count the Zuffa-owned WEC.

    Canada has produced a lot of top fighters in MMA because of the love and passion Canadians have for MMA and UFC. I admire Rory MacDonald and sam stout as top mma fighters.
