It seems the only way that Extreme Cage Combat can get opponents for Gavin Tucker is by plucking guys from the United States.

ECC announced today that Tucker will defend his Featherweight title against Tennessee’s Nate Landwehr for the main event scheduled to take place September 19th at the Multi-Purpose Room on the Halifax Forum. Tucker was originally slated to face Craig Jackson but Jackson broke his foot last week in training.

Tucker won the belt at ECC 22 in February against Michigan’s Bo Harris. While it is never fun to try and find a replacement just a little over a month before the event, the promotion’s matchmaker can see nothing but fireworks with this new fight.

“This has all the makings of technical brawl of the year,” says Boyd Sharpe. “There simply aren’t two more intense fighters on a regional circuit anywhere. Landwehr is in incredible condition. He is aggressive, powerful, skilled and he is as tough as nails. Tucker is all those things as well. Unstoppable force meets immovable objects.”

Tucker comes into the fight undefeated at 8-0 but has upped his training by spending the last couple of weeks in Montreal at the Tristar gym while also teaching at Tristar’s location in Halifax. He will face Landwehr who comes in with a 5-1 record including a three fight winning streak in different promotions in Tennessee.

ECC also announced today that Ryan Connor will fight Lloyd Reyes in a Bantamweight bout. To see the full EEC fight card check our upcoming events page HERE.
