Cirkunov, a member of Xtreme Couture Toronto, is currently riding a four fight win streak with victories over the likes of Rodney Wallace and Martin Desilets. The native Latvian most recently defeated Shaun Asher via first round armbar to retain his HKFC Light-Heavyweight strap.

O’Connell, nicknamed “The Real OC”, is 2-2 inside the Octagon.  He started his UFC career with two losses but recently turned it around with two TKO wins in a row over Matt Van Buren and Anthony Perosh. No stranger to Canadian soil, the win that sealed O’Connell’s UFC deal was a first round submission win over Markhaile Wedderburn inside the MFC ring.

UFC Fight Night 74 takes place August 23 from the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The card is headlined by a fantastic Featherweight contenders fight between Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira.
