Cote, Letourneau, Kelades Scheduled for UFC Saskatoon Fights

The UFC was in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan today announcing their August 23 Fight Night card which will be headlined by Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira. In the co-main event, Rick Story will face Erick Silva in a Welterweight fight.

Lots of Canadians were announced for the card:

  • “The Predator” Patrick Cote will take on Josh Burkman.   Cote will be looking for his second win of 2015 after besting Joe Riggs at the UFC in Montreal, while Burkman will be looking for his first win after coming up short in bouts with Hector Lombard and Dong Hyun-Kim.
  • Another Quebecois, Valerie Letourneau, will be on the card.  “Trouble” will take on the unbeaten Maryna Moroz.   The loser of the bout will suffer their first UFC loss as Letourneau is 2-0 in the octagon while Moroz won her debut this April.
  • Fit Plus MMA’s Chris Kelades will look to push his UFC record past the .500 mark as he will take on Chris Beal in Flyweight action.  Kelades most recently lost by Kimura to Ray Borg, while Beal lost his first ever pro bout in January to Neil Seery.
  • Others announced for the card but without opponents are:  Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Chad Laprise and Sam Stout.

    Mitch just posted that he had to have surgery and would not be able to compete on this card… Feel bad for him not getting to fight in front of his hometown fans!
