Title Fight & 5 Canadians Officially Announced for UFC Montreal

UFC Logo ThumbnailThe UFC announced several bouts for UFC 186 on TSN today. The card will be held April 25 in the Bell Centre.

Topping the card will be a Bantamweight title fight between champion TJ Dillashaw (11-2) and former champion Renan Barao (33-2).

The UFC made official the previously rumoured co-main event between Rory MacDonald (18-2)and Hector Lombard (35-4).  According to the UFC, the Welterweight with the most impressive victory in the MacDonald/Lombard fight and the UFC 185 Johny Hendricks/Matt Brown fight, will receive the next Welterweight title shot.

Aside from Rory MacDonald, four other Canadians were announced by the UFC.

The Ultimate Fighter runner up Jessica Rakoczy (1-4), from Ontario, will finally return to the Octagon to face Quebec’s Valerie Létourneau (6-3) at Strawweight.

Patrick Cote (20-9) will try to rebound from his first Welterweight loss in a bout with Joe Riggs (40-15).

TUF Nations runner up Olivier Aubin-Mercier (5-1), from Quebec, will face David Michaud (8-1) in a Lightweight belt.

Also announced by the UFC was the return of “Rampage” Jackson (35-11).  The former Light-Heavyweight champions will take on Fabio Maldonado (22-7) in his UFC return after going 3-0 in Bellator.

Michael Bisping (25-7) and C.B. Dollaway (15-6) will also meet in Montreal in a Middleweight bout.

    Ufc needs to sign Matt MacGrath from pei. Same club as Jason saggo. Matt would be a great addition to any card and especially in Canada where he has made his mark as the belt collector.
