Top MMA News has learned that Chris Horodecki will face Luis Huete at World Series of Fighting 14 in Edmonton, Alberta, according to sources close to the fight.

Chris Horodecki has been one of Canada’s top Lightweights for the past decade but will be fighting at Featherweight for this October 11th bout.  The Polish Hammer has built a 20-5 record over his career which has featured fights in the IFL, Bellator, and the WEC.  Horodecki has beaten accomplished athletes like Bart Palaszewski, Danny Downes, and Ed Ratcliff but on the two occasions he has droppd to Featherweight he has come away unsuccessful.

Horodecki hopes to reverse his fortunes at Featherweight against the up and coming Luis Huete (6-1). Huete is coming off a recent win where he knocked out Wolfgang Janssen at Havoc Fighting Championship 6. The win was Huete’s third consecutive win in 2014 following a five year absence from the sport.

The Horodecki versus Huete Canadian Featherweight matchup joins a stacked WSOF 14 card that includes Ryan Ford taking on Jake Shields in the main event and Smealinho Rama and Derrick Mehmen challenging for the vacant WSOF Heavyweight title.

    Thanks for the support guys.

Ya we respect Chris, we understand this is a step up but I feel it’s a step in the right direction.

With the other fights we were offered, many of them were strong contenders. The fact is in Canada at Featherweight, the top 10 in general is very solid, with some tough and dangerous contenders outside of the top 10. Everyone is gonna be tough.

Taking on a guy like Chris is a step up, but also a big upside if Luis walks away with the win. Fortune favors the bold haha, should be a great fight, and a great card.

    Thanks guys.

I’ve heard that Joe Silva has said that Featherweight is the toughest division in the UFC to get signed for… gotta take huge fights like this to get on his radar I guess! Best of luck to Luis!
