Mitch Gagnon will face Rob Font at UFC Fight Night 54 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, according to a UFC tweet.

Mitch Gagnon (11-2) was originally slated to face Aljamain Sterling. Sterling pulled out due to injury and Rob Font stepped up to fill in.

It will be Gagnon’s fourth UFC fight. After losing his debut to Bryan Caraway, the Sudbury, Ontario athlete has reeled off three consecutive Octagon victories. After submitting Walel Watson and Dustin Kimura, Gagnon won a unanimous decision at the TUF Nations Finale this April in Quebec.

Rob Font (11-1) won his UFC debut against George Roop in spectacular fashion by knocking out his UFC 175 opponent early in the first round. The Boston fighter has won ten consecutive fights including a win over Nova Scotia’s Tristan Johnson.

The Gagnon vs Font battle joins a card stacked with Canadians including Rory MacDonald and The Ultimate Fighter Nations winners Chad Laprise and Elias Theodorou.
