John Alessio THUMBThe long awaited return of Guillaume “Il Toro” De Lorenzi will have to wait a little longer as an undisclosed injury has forced his removal from his Bellator 119 bout with John “The Nautral” Alessio. Now Canada’s youngest UFC title challenger will meet fellow big show veteran Eric “Little Lee” Wisely.

Alessio enters the cage for the first time since his Lightweight tournament loss to Will Brooks in September of last year. Canada’s number 7 ranked Lightweight is a veteran of almost every promotion imaginable throughout his 50 plus career fights, even challenging former UFC Welterweight champion Pat Miletich for the strap at UFC 26.

Wisely, a member of Team Conquest, had a brief two fight stint in the UFC dropping a decision to Jason Young and suffering a submission loss to Charles Olivera.  More recently “Little Lee” has gone on a three fight win streak that includes a 29 second KO over Jeremy Castro.

Bellator 119 goes down May 9th from Casion Rama in Rama, Ontario.  The card is stacked with Canadian talent including Chris Horodecki talking on former Sengoku Featherweight champ Marlon Sandro and Canadian mystery man Vaughn Anderson fights on Canadian soil for the first time in his career as he faces off with former Dream Welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis.  “Wardog” Craig Hudson takes on Stuart Austin while two national prospect Jason Meisel and Remy Bussiere will also throw down.
