Tim Chemelli finally has an opponent set for KOTC: Mach 1 in Cold Lake Alberta. The hometown fighter will take on former KOTC World Heavyweight, Cruiserweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Tony “Kryptonite” Lopez at a Catchweight of 220lbs. Also on the card will be a Middleweight Title fight between returning Champion Elmer Waterhen and Challenger Trent Thorne.

Tim Chemelli enters the bout following a two fight losing streak to Dwayne Lewis and Razak Al-Hassan respectively. Chemelli has posted a respectable 10-5 record with notable victories comeing over the likes of Mike Kent, Simon Marini and Jon Ganshorn but has stumbled in his attempts to secure a win over the next level of opponents having lost to UFC Veterans, Al-Hassan, Victor Valimaki and Nick Penner. Chemelli is a proven finisher with only one of his victories making to the judges scorecards.

Tony Lopez was scheduled to take on Smealinho Rama at Battle for the Border 3 however Rama was forced to bow out due to a foot injury. Lopez enters the bout having lost 5 of his last 6 contests to the likes of Trevor Prangley, Alexey Oleinik and Nick Rossborough. Lopez however is very tough and durable foe and has only been finished four times in his fourteen losses with most of his opponents needing the full 3-5 rounds to get the win.  Lopez’s most recent win came with a bit of controversy when he submitted Andenilson Clementino by rear naked choke. Lopez held the choke well after the referee attempted to pull him off and delivered a hammer fist to the face as he stood up.
