Roland Delorme UFC Fight Night 37 Bout is Called Off
UFC Fight Night 37 has lost a bout. The UFC announced today that the Roland Delorme versus Davey Grant bout has been scratched. No reason was given for the fight being called off and both fighters made weight at weigh-ins.
Delorme (9-2) was entering the bout following a split decision loss to Alex Caceres at UFC 165 in September. Prior to that, the WAMMA fighter was unbeaten in the octagon going 3-0 with a no contest due to a failed drug test by Fransisco Rivera. The TUF 14 fighter’s latest win came in his Winnipeg hometown over Edwin Figueroa.
Delorme was going to face fellow The Ultimate Fighter graduate Davey Grant (8-2). Grant fought on TUF 18 where he received a bye to the final thanks to an opponent missing weight. In TUF 18 Finale, Grant was submitted by Chris Holdsworth.
UFC Fight Night 37 features a main event with Light-Heavyweight title contender Alexander Gustafsson taking on the unbeaten Jimi Manuwa.
UPDATE: MMA Fighting reported that Davey Grant recently suffered a knee injury in training and had an MRI. The UFC just received the results today and it was determined that Grant was too injured to fight. UFC President Dana White said Grant fought to stay on the card despite the injury and both fighters would receive their show pay.
