Sorry boys but ‘overweight former elite professional’ beats ‘good guy grandpa journeyman’ every day of the week.

Vote me down but it’s true.

Ugh those no contests are shitty for everyone. It’s a tough break for the fighters who trained so hard and the fight ends from an accident of some kind. Shitty for the fans too who were counting on the exciting tilt. As unfortunate as it is.. It’s a very necessary evil

I agree with you marv, shitty situation for everyone. I didnt see the fight but I personally trained with Will Romero before and trust me he takes his training and fighting as serious as anyone. Really sucks for him especially coming off a long lay off. And on a side note why the hell are there no betting lines for this event? Just took money straight outta my pocket.

I’d think it’s safe to say Ryan Ford is now the #2 ww contender in Canada behind Macdonald.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 6 Thumb down 7

  10. BOOBOO says:

AFTER T HAT PERFORMANCE , FORD SHOULD GET THE CHANCE AT THE WORLD STRAP NOW , HE DESERVES IT AND I THINK HE KICKS JOSH BURKMANS ASS !

GREAT FIGHT AND 2 OF THE BEST 170ERS OUTSIDE THE UFC , SO DARREN LETS SEE HOW GOOD FORD REALLY IS AND SET THAT FIGHT UP !

  11. HaterGonnaHate says:

Someone get ford a pardon so we can see this beast in the UFC.

On a side note, nice win muffin top! Lets hope you can take your winnings now and buy yourself a scale.

Mike kent , nice win! Good rebound after a rough end in 2013.

And pretty boy Hill scores another victory.

    Great card Darren!

  12. Kevin Jones says:

Good luck getting a pardon for a very violent crime. Pardons are for offenders who have done minor, non violent/ non drug related offences. The National Parole Board wont give Ford a pardon. He also does not deserve a pardon. His excellence as a MMA fighter does not change what he did. Too bad. He is fucking awesome. Bring the Americans to Canada!

  13. HaterGonnaHate says:

Ya it’s really to bad his past is haunting him! Mad respect for that guy inside the cage.

Hague is the most accomplished mma fighter Alberta has produced

  15. @ Jackal, yes Hague is the most accomplished and highly decorated mma fighter alberta has produced, and if you dont believe me you can ask chad olmstead and he will tell you the same!!

  16. Darren Owen says:

    BOOBOO,
STEVE CARL 21-3 IS THE WSOF WORLD CHAMP. HE CHOKED OUT BURKMAN TO WIN THE TITLE. HE’S SCHEDULE TO FIGHT PALHARES MARCH 29 IN VEGAS. I AGREE FORD VS ONE OF THE TOP US WELTERWEIGHTS OR THE WORLD CHAMP MAKES SENSE.

  17. Woodrow says:

Im biased but i think sergej juskevic is the guy in canada not signed by major promotion to beat him. If he cant fight out of Canada id like to see that

    Well-loved! Thumb up 11 Thumb down 4

  18. @Jackal…Jason MacDonald, although born in the Maritimes, was trained in Alberta.

He is, by far, the best MMA fighter that Alberta has produced. Only 5 Canadians have more UFC wins than ‘the Athlete’.

Thumb up 1 Thumb down 1

  19. TimHague says:

Dont call me accomplished. Only thingbive done lately is pokish off a large pizza

  20. Bdc says:

I agree with keith as macdonald fought a fighter who held the belt for years in the ufc, franklin . Hauge must be in the number two spot he came up short alot but i do remember the fight for the troops card he headlined against mitrione.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 1

  21. Not saying Tim is not accomplished. Tim made it to the UFC and won.

    No shame being behind JMac.

Alberta has produced a lot of great MMA fighters Tim, Nick Ring, Jordan Mein, Ryan Jimmo, if you count him as Albertan, and Jason Day all have wins with the big show.

You have to say Ryan Ford is right up there with those guys as well, despite not fighting in the UFC.

  22. WestCoast says:

Not trying to stir anything up but where did all this hate for Hague come from?! Maybe i was wrong but he used to be so well loved and now it seems like he’s public enemy number 1!!
