Mississauga, Ontario born Albert Cheng has been added to the TUF China finale where he will take on fellow semi-finalist Anying Wang in a Welterweight bout that should take place on the preliminary card.

Cheng started his pro career going 2-0 with wins over Wesley Ranger and  the ever tough Taylor Solomon. Things soured over his next two bouts as he suffered 2 back to back loses one via TKO at the hands of Mike Sledzion and another via triangle choke at the inaugural Real Fight MMA Championships in China. Cheng joined the cast for the first edition of TUF China and was selected as a member of Tiequan Zhang’s team but was eliminated by Dong Xin in the fourth episode.  Cheng re entered the bracket due to Xin suffering an injury and defeated Yong Shun to earn Xin’s semi final spot. Cheng faced Zhang Lipeng for a shot at the finals but was submitted via kimura in the second round and was once again bounced from the tournament.

Wang made his pro MMA debut in May 2013 and earned a first round TKO and with only 1 pro tilt under his belt he was selected for the TUF China cast. Wang earned a bye into the semi finals as his original opponent Ziyi Fu was unable to make weight and was cut from the show. Wang advanced and faced Sai Wang in the semis but was submitted by a rear naked choke in the second round.

The TUF China finale goes down March 1st from the The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena in Macau, China. The card is headlined by John Hathaway taking on Dong Hyun Kim as well Canadian Bantamweight standout will move up to 145 pounds to tangle with Hatsu Hioki. The card will most likely be streamed live through UFC Fight Pass.

Oh john ! I’m not nut hugging westcott here but I’ve trained win him , and I think ford is by far the best on that list and I have watched the two train together. Ford is good but would not beat Sheldon in the first and I think ford is the top 170er outside the UFC.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 4 Thumb down 9

  4. @ John, I can see westcott fighting the above six on your list, but judging by the infrequency of his fighting it would take him 6 years to complete the list, that is unless anyone of the above true warriors puts him into permanent retirement.
