  12. Obviously says:

Not having any OAMA fighters on a show in Ottawa is a sure fire way to flop..

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 2 Thumb down 9

  13. O.J Sampson says:

Does oama have any fighters willing to step up? Judging by their track record, they have zero talent in that gym

  14. NMMA says:

I heard Lee and Temouri are on this card? Any validity?

  15. Alister says:

Wow Stephane Pelletier went down in weight class 2 reasons (1) Louis is at 135 and (2) he got ktfo by Dimitri his last outing. Smart play by Tristar to make sure there fighters fight less skilled opponents. Way to pad the wins truly doesn’t make their Stable any better just makes it look like they’re running.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 2 Thumb down 8

  16. Jerry Jones says:

Alister, I don’t disagree that Tristar has gotten softer opponents for their guys in the past but Pelletier fighting Wilson is a great fight and will challenge both fighters at their new weight. If you think Wilson is less skilled then I hope to see you at the show so you can see his talent first hand and his exciting KO finish.

  17. Alister says:

    @ Jerry Jones
I have not seen Wilson Fight I look forward to see him fight at Hybrid!

I meant no disrespect to his skills just tired of the promotions on looking at Tristar. They are definitely not the only Gym in Quebec or Ontario with good fighters.

  18. Dave Mah says:

Eric Wilson is no joke. He holds a win over Roland Delorme and was ranked #4 in Canada at 135lbs (even though he was a natural 125lber). To suggest he is a “record padding fight” is stupid.

    Well-loved! Thumb up 6 Thumb down 1

  19. Alister says:

    @ Dave Mah
Never said he was a joke only stated that promotions believe Tristar is the only MMA Gym
In Canada. I had not seen any footage on Wilson till today. Much respect for him. Not sure of him being a Natural flyweight though he weighed in at 139.5 again Delorme. But looked great.

  20. LBoutin says:

Alister – Did you not refer to Wilson as a “less skilled opponent” and that Pelletier/Tristar was trying to pad his record by taking this fight?

Pretty ignorant comments considering you had never seen Wilson fight and knew nothing about him.

Eric will be a beast at 125, looking forward to his debut at Flyweight !

    Well-loved! Thumb up 6 Thumb down 1

  21. Alister says:

Maybe it was ignorance but you have to be blind not to notice they positioned there fighters in lower weight classes to try and sweep.

Very strategic is what it is. Not taking away from anyone just saying!

  22. Ian McWalter says:

It doesn’t make sense for a fighter to fight heavier than they need to be. It’s not cowardly or record padding to fight at a lower weight. Most of the time it makes the most sense. Maybe for a real challenge you think tristar fighters should fatten up and go up a class for the challenge. I am Eric Wilson’s coach and he is definitely not padding.

Yeah, Eric is very slick at what he does. Some of the best leg locks/heel hooks Ive ever seen. And very physically strong. Not to mention very underrated standup game. Had his way with me on the mats the couple times I rolled with him. lol
