  4. Cody Saftic says:

All jokes aside I would actually like to see Hudson on a decent card as well. He’s 40 years old but is currently fighting the best fights on his career. The time to get him a fight against a Tim Hague/Dave Huckaba type opponent is now.

Ford vs Powell should be a fun one to watch. I am gonna try to make it out for this one.

  9. Ford vs Powell will be a barnburner! In a close tough fight of attrition I have Ford coming away with the W. Congrats wsof for putting this together.

Behrang is a HUGE first fight for hakeem in my opinion. Good to see that dawodu Muay Thai background does not deter a true grit warrior like yousefi. That’s the type of guy that can ACTUALLY call himself a fighter. He’s offered a fight, realizes it’s tough, and says yes because that’s what his job is. At the end of the day, a fight is a fight, jits, boxing, MT, whatever. Like Trevor stewardson or whatever his name was back in the day, the boxer, guys fought him regardless of his pedigree and there are SO many facets to MMA. Pretty jacked for this one.

Behrang Yousefi is the MF man! For taking this fight.

  12. Mike Russell says:

FYI, Powell had a MAJOR injury for the Lockhart and Hill fights that affected his training and definitely hindered his performance . We thought it was a nagging soft tissue injury, but without giving it away it was determined to be much worse — borderline surgical repair worse — which was why he had to pull out of the first scheduled fight with Ford.

Joel is 100% healed and healthy and fans will get what they pay for in February. I’m expecting an epic war like the one Joe Doerksen and Joel put on.

  13. Adam Lorenz says:

^Powell is a tough dude. Actually, they are BOTH really tough. This is a heck of a fight.

Nice.. This is the part where TMMN plays host to seventeen pages of back and forth ‘tough guy’ BS between two anonymous posters? Haha. All I’m sayin is Behrang WON’T back out of this fight like happened with the Noah Ali fight?

Forum fighter.. . Why is ‘nuts in a mouth’ the first place you go? Hmm? Seems awfully ‘telling’ to me.

    Lol..

  17. Jared McComb says:

I’ve heard great things about Hakeem. I guess his stand up is unreal but as it goes for many strikers we’ll have see how his ground game is.

    Well-loved! Thumb up 9 Thumb down 0

  18. Sure Hakeems stand up could be as unreal as you want but this is mma not muay thai so his overhand right followed by a right cut kick means nothing when hes on his back caught in a armbar or being ground and pounded. The way I see this fight unfolding is if Behrang decides to stand and trade he should pack a pillow and a book of bedtime stories in his gym bag cause he will soon be going to sleep, if he takes a page out of the john fitch book of mma and fights a smart, conservative fight the tables could well be reversed.

No disrespect to Lee Mein but how does a guy who is 6-12 with a recent win over the scab Boobie K get a fight with WSOF….. So much for hoping WSOF would bring in some top tier competition.

I’m excited to watch that fight. An ex-ufc fighter throwing down with a Canadian mma pioneer. Sure it doesn’t have any relevance on the rankings, but it’ll be exciting and probably short. Not too mention it’ll probably be on the undercard.

  28. miley says:

Meh I wouldn’t overestimate Hague after the last beating Starnes gave him coming up from middleweight. What’s next for him Dan Severn? This fight has no relevance on anything hopefully it’s quick and short and on the prelims as poster above said.

  29. Rob V says:

Sure the fight has no relevance but as stated its one for the fans. Not all fights has to be relevant to something, many forget this sport is entertainment as well as competition.

  33. Tim Hague Vs Lee mein hmm, hopefully one of these long over the hill hillbillys doesn’t get injured or pulls out on short notice or wel see the likes of the notorious bobby the animal k once again grace us with his divine presence. Hague vs Mein maybe great on a kotc or unified fight card, but not so great on the wsof brand.

Hopefully they have someone in mind if one goes down or tim gasses on way to ring. Decent Canadian heavies and lhw not under contract are hard to come by.

If every fight had to be a fight for the rankings, there wouldn’t really be much out there…

whether people think they are over rated, or anything….they are proven professional athletes who like to knock guys out.

will be a fun fight. can’t wait to watch

  37. Cody Saftic says:

I agree with @bigpoppagroove69 in that the fight is probably better suited as a feature attraction on a smaller card but that being said it’s obviously an interesting fight and hey Bellator puts local sub .500 fighters on their prelims all the time so who really cares. I like the fight

    I see 145ers needing opponents ;)
I’d also be interested in a Canada vs USA rematch with Solorio; he got lucky last time he came up here but this time it would be Mr.Lorenz by Sharpshooter.
Anyways, the 3rd week of Feb is my week off while the kids have no school so I’ll be getting ready in case anything comes my way.
    Merry Christmas everyone!
