Garcia Meets Spencer At UFC 171

Fresh off his KO win at UFC Fight Night 33 last weekend Garcia will get right back into training camp mode as he is already slotted for his second UFC bout against Sean Spencer at UFC 171.

Garcia made his UFC debut on December 7th in Australia and quickly KO’d TUF “Smashes” alum Ben Wall just 43 seconds into the first round. “The Dominican Nightmare” has been on a tear since his only career loss to Seth Baczynski in April of 2011, since then he has rattled off 5 straight wins including victories over Canadian Welterweight contenders Ryan Dickson and Matt MacGarth as well as dispatching upstart American prospect Chris Heatherly via submission in the first round.

Spencer, a member of Octagon MMA, is 2-1 since entering the UFC he dropped his debut bout to Rafael Natal but has since strung together 2 straight wins with a split decision over Yuri Villefort and a unanimous decision over Drew Dober this past November at the TUF 18 Finale. Known for his grinding style “Black Magic” has seen the judges 7 times in his 11 victories.

UFC 171 goes down March 15th from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas and is topped off with a Light Heavyweight title fight in which champion Jon Jones defends against Glover Teixeira. The card also features a pair of intruigng Welterweight match ups as Jake Shields takes on Hector Lombard and Diego Sanchez goes toe to toe with Myles Jury.
