Rory MacDonald Faces Demian Maia at UFC 170

#3 ranked welterweight @rory_macdonald will face #6 ranked @demianmaia at #UFC170 in Las Vegas on Feb 22nd.

Rory MacDonald (15-2) hails from Kelowna, British Columbia and is 6-2 in the UFC. After winning five consecutive UFC bouts, MacDonald lost his most recent bout at UFC 167 against Robbie Lawler by Split Decision.

Like MacDonald, Demian Maia is coming off a loss in his most recent fight. At UFC Fight Night 29, Jake Shields defeated Maia in a five round split decision. It was Maia’s first loss since moving down from Middleweight, where he once challenged Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight title.

    Intriguing matchup. I like Maia, but i see Rory dictating where the whole fight takes place and taking a decision or late TKO.

    I think rory is going to come out very strong and take Maia out he has a lot to Prove in this fight but who knows we will have to see. good match up hope it will be a good fight

    This would have normally been a great match up for Rory but after the last fight and all the pressure for him to be active and aggressive I think is what will be a bad situation as Maia will use that aggression against him to get the take down and the sub.

    If Rory uses the style he has last few fights of jabbing and making it a drawn out fight then he cruises to a win
