Garcia Gets New Opponent For UFC Fight Night 33
Alex Garcia will be making his UFC debut down under and now has to deal with a switch up in opponent as Andreas Stahl was forced to withdraw and in steps TUF “Smashes” alum Ben Wall. MMAWeekly.com was the first to confirm the match up.
Garcia, a member of Tristar Gym, is currently riding a 4 fight win streak including wins over Matt MacGrath, Ryan Dickson and Chris Heatherly. A proven finisher “The Dominican Nightmare” has finished 90% on his wins with all but two of those coming in the first round.
Wall will have home field advantage being a native Aussie and will hope to rebound after a disappointing performance on TUF “smashes” where he was eliminated by Colin Fletcher in the opening round. “Manimal” has fought once since leaving the show defeating Jai Bradney via unanimous decision at Nitro MMA this past March. Very much a point fighter Wall has gone the distance in his last 6 outings.
UFC Fight Night 33 goes down December 7th from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The card features a heavyweight contest between Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva, other Canadians will also be appearing on the card as Nick Ring finally returns against Caio Magalhaes while Mitch Gagnon will challenge Alex Caceres.
