Seriously I’ve never seen so much disrespect to guys who put it on the line and actually get in the cage like Kent. No I’m not talking about the criticisms towards frauds like Large and Bobby K., that is warranted. You guys used to criticize Kent for taking easy fights then he takes hard fights and he gets torn apart again. This site has gotten worse than the UG.
I’ve been critical of Mike before but I gotta say he went in there and didn’t Kalmakoff. Sure he was out classed but 99% of middleweights in Canada would be outclassed by a guy who has fought former UFC Middleweight champions.
Mike got smoked by a beauty of a leg hook (set up spectacular combo designed to land said hook) but regained his composure on the ground and tried to stop the onslaught. David’s GnP is just that damn slick that he fed punches into the gaps.
Come on Mike that is pitiful!!!! It was not even close to as nasty as when I got astro traveled by Spratt. Better luck next time (hopefully not) but I am still ahead of you on the highlight real so keep your head up man.
Am I the only one that sees that Mike was actually out twice there? Kind of a late stoppage on that one. Tough to watch, Mike is good guy and that was vicious.
Thanks Donnie, you know your fighting career has hit an all time low when people are giving you props for not pulling a Bobby K lol. I was can see from the video that I did try to regain my composure once we hit the ground but until I seen this video I thought it was a clean KO and didn’t even realize any GNP took place.
Gunner if I stay on this path I will one day get knocked out way worse then yours so don’t worry.
In all seriousness guy I did used to get torn to shreds for not stepping up and padding my record and then I took the hardest fights I could find and I get torn up for getting smoked and beaten bad so ive learned that no matter what people are waiting for any chance to talk shit.
I will fight again 100 percent and maybe after three or 4 fights ill take another try at a top guy but I think if anything ive proven im not ready for that yet.
Really would have liked to mix it up a bit with a legend but unfortunately when you throw horrible inside leg kicks you don’t get the chance to cuz its over in a flash . pretty disappointed but life goes on
That was actually very unfair of me and highly unprofessional. You have nothing in common with Bobby period. Things that differentiate you from Bobby are:
1. You actually fight.
2. You don’t look like Elmer Fudd
3. You have a ground game.
4. You’ve actually thrown back punches with intent.
5. The description “professional fighter” is something you can use.
I was completely in error. I was more impressed with how you showed skill against a serious killer of an opponent. People sleep on David due to some of his losses which is the wrong way to judge a fighter.
Mike Kent is a class act! He doesn’t always come across that way online, but in person he is totally different. When I met him in person a couple of years ago he was totally different then the person I thought he would be. Many people have the same response when the meet him “That was Mike Kent”, is what most people say.
When Mike is older and looks back on his career he won’t have to ask “I wonder what would of happened if I fought the best?”. Mike has stepped up, and although he didn’t get the results he wanted, and has no regrets.
If you ever get a chance to have a beer with the guy make sure you do. You’ll have a few laughs and will get to know a pretty cool dude.
Mike went from fighting cans to killers probably not the smartest thing to do there never was any in between guys he had false confidants from beating up on lower level guys . Mike should have had somebody guiding him on the right path .
@Dean Panas, I have to strongly disagree with you Deano, Fighting the best out there when you havnt elevated yourself above the stature of average club fighter in this sport or any other combat sport is not the wisest thing to do ,especially for a family man like kent whos wife and kids rely on him to come home every night healthy wealthy wise and safe. This is a very unforgiving sport and the health repercusions and consequences for making foolish choices are not pleasant, and are felt long after you have hung up the gloves. You could challenge yourself and get slaughtered playing golf with Tiger Woods or basketball with Michael Jorden except chances are 10 years later when your 40 years old your likely not going to be a babbling drooling idiot wearing Depends.
The cloak of invincibility has finely being shed from the back of the infamous mr. kent as he reluctantly comes to the realization and far gone conclusion that his real name is mike kent and not Clark Kent. And what more can be said about David the Crow Loiseaus devastating performance other than that night he must have being in a a early Christmas Spirit where the motto is, its better to give than it is to receive, and give he did!!
BIG RESPECT MIKE , THIS YEAR WAS HARD ON YOU BUT ATLEAST YOU SHOWED US KEYBOARD WARRIORS YOU AINT A FAKE LIKE MOST OF US THOUGHT ( INCLUDING ME ).
YOU CORNER GUYS ALOT ,YOU SPEND TIME IN THE GYM AND AWAY FROM YOUR FAMILY BECAUSE YOU LOVE THIS SPORT AND FOR THAT MY FRIEND I CONGRATULATE YOU FOR THE TIME AND EFFORT YOU PUT IN TO MAKE OUR SPORT A BETTER WAY OF LIFE FOR YOURSELF AND OTHERS.

This fight made CP and they call it 3 TKO’s… when you watch it, they’re right… that ref should have been all over this when Kent hit the mat:
