If you are in the MMA industry like I am, you are constantly looking through the Top MMA News’ Upcoming Events.  Anyways, I was looking through it once again and noticed that Battlefield Fight League and the World Series of Fighting both have events scheduled in British Columbia on December 7th. WWE is in town, as well. Busy weekend for that province’s newly formed commission!

On to the rumours!

  • Elmer Waterhen will take on Lindsay Hawkes in the main event at KOTC Canada’s Cold Lake show on November 15th. The fight will be a 180lbs catch weight contest!
  • I already told you that Rick Story is in Tristar preparing with GSP for their UFC 167 fights.  Now, I hear that Kelvin Gastelum arrived in Montreal to train with Georges St-Pierre as well.  Combine that with Firas Zahabi and the rest of the Tristar team and it sounds like a great camp for GSP!
  • Robert Whittaker has returned to the Tristar Gym looking to get back in the win column at UFC Fight Night 33.
  • Provincial FC may hold their next show at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.  The event will be in 2014. Is Woody going to be back on there?
  •  “Typhoon” Cheng will finally hit the south east Asian coast for OneFC in the near future!
  • Look for WSOF to head over to Japan in 2014.  There is talk of a journey for all WSOF country champs to then head over in a Street Fighter/Quest/Bloodsport type competition eventually!
  • Myles Merola will competing on the on WSOF 7! No word yet on who will duel the “The Cowboy” on December 7th in Vancouver.

  • Corey Knapp announced an end to his near seven year MMA run after his victory over Reece Chapman at KOTC in Edmonton on October 25th.
  • Real Deal hittin 155lbs? Read what Ryan Ford had to say… “Thinking Of Challenging Myself I’m Not Walking Around As Heavy As I Used 2 Seriously Thinkin The Drop 2 155??? #TeamRealDeal #GDUPWORLDWIDE”  Mr. Ford would be even possibly scarier at Lightweight! WOW!
  • Adam Hunter was arrested in his dressing room following his KO of Teddy Ash at ECC 18.  Sources say he went AWOL from the military.  Thankfully, it looks like this one will be resolved though.
  • Kevin “Mongoose” Manderson, a Canadian now living in Australia, was defeated by Gokhan “Pitbull” Turkyilmaz (10-9) via TKO at 0:26 seconds of the first round at Brace for War 23 in Australia this past Saturday.

TUF Nations News

  • TUF Nations starts filming this week
  • Patrick Cote’s coaching staff for his TUF: Nations team are the following.
    • Fabio Holanda : bjj: black belt, 12 MMA fights
    • David Zilberman : wrestling: eight time national champ, 2008 Beijing Olympian
    • Kru Ash : striking : Morocco Champion , 2 times named best international muay thai coach in Thailand
  • Kyle Noke‘s coaching staff are all out of Jackson’s MMA with the exception of Canadian Strength & Conditioning coach Jonathan Chaimberg, who owns Adrenaline Performance Center and trains many top athletes, like the Pittsburgh Penguins Kris Letang.  Well, Chaimberg coached some of the Canadian TUF Nations fighters previously at APC.  We could have some drama if Chaimberg gives insider info to the Aussie team.
