The UFC has announced a Bantamweight bout between two rising fighters: Mitch Gagnon and Alex Caceres.  The two will face off on December 6th in Brisbane, Australia on UFC Fight Night 33

Both fighters are coming off victories last month at UFC 165 in Toronto, Ontario.  Mitch Gagnon (10-2) submitted the previous unbeaten Dustin Kimura to win a $50,000 Submission of the Night bonus on the card.  It was Gagnon’s second UFC bonus and second consecutive victory.  The Sudbury, Ontario native is 2-1 in the Octagon – defeating Walel Watson and losing to Bryan Caraway in a Fight of the Night.

Alex Caceres, better known as Bruce Leeroy from The Ultimate Fighter 12, has gone 4-3 (1 No Contest) in his UFC career.  In his last fight at UFC 165, Caceres upset Canadian Roland Delorme with a split decision victory.  After initial struggles in the UFC, Caceres has started winning regularly.

  2. I wonder if this is the kickoff to TUF Nations series opener. Lots of Canadians and you know there will be Australians galore with it being in Brisbane.

Mitch has, and has always had, all the intangibles. All the things you’re either born with or you’re not.

Heart. Drive. Desire. Aggression. Resilience. ETCETERA.

In his last fight he added a tight striking game after training with Joseph Valtellini. Training with Joey V has brought his kickboxing level up to equal or surpass his ornery grappling level.

With his mental strength, his work ethic, his constantly improving skills and his natural bad assery he will be talked about in the title picture by the end of 2014.

    No romo.

I sure hope so as he seems like a good guy but right now he is getting nice match ups and I’m not sure how he’ll hang with the top 10 BW’s. As a loss to Caraway makes me wonder? But, I think (and hope) he crushes that wierdo “Bruce Leroy”
