Stout vs. McKenzie Set For UFC On Fox 9


Canada’s 4th ranked Lightweight, Sam “Hands of Stone” Stout, will tackle TUF 11 veteran Cody McKenzie on the preliminary card of the upcoming UFC on Fox 9. This match up was first announced by the folks over at

Stout, will be looking to get back in the win column as he enters this bout on the heels of a disappointing 3rd round submission loss to James Krause at UFC 161. It’s been a rough road for “Hands of Stone” as of late having gone just 2-3 in his last 5 bouts trading wins and losses. Its been over 2 years since Stout has strung together 2 back to back wins and with a potential pink slip looming he’ll enter the Octagon against McKenzie guns a blazin’.

McKenzie just like Stout has gone just 2-3 in his last 5 outings but will be entering this bout riding high on a decision win over Leonard Garcia at UFC 159. This tussle will mark McKenzie return to 155 pounds after a unsuccessful drop to Featherweight where he was quickly dispatched by Chad Mendes then earning the aforementioned decision over Garcia. A proven finisher the “AK Kid” has finished 13 of his 14 wins between the bells 12 of which came by way of submission (10 by way of McKenzietine).

UFC on Fox 9 goes down December 14th from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. The card will be headlined by a Lightweight Championship tilt between title holder Anthony Pettis and challenger Josh Thomson, an intriguing Bantamweight clash between Urijah Faber and Michael McDonald will sever as the nights co-main event.
