Jason Saggo Signs 3 Fight Deal with Aggression Fighting Championship
“The winner of this fight will be seriously looked at, as to who next deserves a shot at the Lightweight title” Stated AFC matchmaker Darren Owen. “Beaumont’s original opponent Brandt Dewsbery had to pull out due to an injury. Saggo stepped up and asked for this fight and has expressed interest in fighting any top Canadian Lightweight out there. We absolutely love when fighters want to challenge themselves and fight the best. Saggo and Beaumont are those type of guys.”
Here’s what Saggo said about his signing, “I am very happy to have signed a 3 fight deal with the AFC. I believe they are the largest, most successful organization for MMA in Canada. They have top tier talent in my weight division and I’m looking forward to the challenge!” His prediction for his upcoming fight, “I’m looking to finish the fight whether it’s by KO or submission. I never want my fights to go to the judge’s decision.”
This marquee matchup will take place on the main card of AFC 19 July 5th at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton Alberta. A decisive win by either fighter may grant them the next shot at the AFC Lightweight title belt.

Markus hicks at 170??? Is he not bringing his big head and enormous ego to the fight? Other than that, amazing looking card. So many fighters I’ve been wanting to see fight again. I hope it is made available to watch on web pay per view or streamed by a website
Well-loved!

I am beyond excited to be calling this awesome fight and this mind blowing card.
Saggo has a freakish ground game and that has been developed to perfection for MMA. His take down game is very unique to him, and he transitions to specialized positions seamlessly mid-takedown.
His stand up is monstrously underrated and he controls distance beautifully.
As I’ve started to do more and more research on Beaumont (and I have plenty more to do), its exciting to see that his skills measure up quite nicely and his instinctive tendencies will pose some very real threats to Jay.
He’s good everywhere and has a solid unpredictable streak to him. Great fighter and I can’t wait to get more data on him. A stud in a lot of areas and seems very ready for this step up.
This is another killer match up on a crazy good card.
Insanely pumped to call this with Deano.
Well-loved!
