Photos 17 and 24 (of 38) from the Hague fight look a lot like shots to the back of the head. Is that just the angle?

  2. Matt says:

In the sequence of pictures from 17 to 26 you can see tracey is in the same position and just covering up and never even rolls or turns his head. That being said pic 17, 19, 22, 24, 25, 26 are all CLEAR punches or hammer fists to back of head NO QUESTION…… not trying to discount how the fight went or who won but either the ref blew this for not stopping this and warning Tim or for not stopping the fight sooner as Tracey was not properly defending himself.

I’m kind of surprised that this isn’t being discussed. Usually this site is all over stuff like this and while I get that 161 is probably drawing attention it shouldn’t be completely ignored.

I read and noticed the Edmonton Commission allowed Referee Kyle Cardinal to officiate the same fighter he trained and cornered in the UFC

a past personal relationship and paid employer is a definite conflict of interest
the Fact that Pat Reid overlooked the details is yet another reason why the UFC wont do business in Edmonton

As for Cardinal the fact is he has been officiating countless former students from his school in Edmonton and the smaller shows in Alberta on top of this event with no regard to the impact of the integrity of this sport

Licensing of Officials – Conflict of Interest
Mixed Martial Arts, Boxing and Kickboxing

In order to safeguard the integrity of sporting events all officials licensed or provided a permit by the Athletics Commissioner, except Seconds, shall be subject to the following Conflict of Interest policy:

No individual shall officiate over any bout in which that individual has any monetary interest in a participant, manager or manager’s business. A monetary interest includes anyone in the individual’s immediate family – spouse, parent, grandparent or child – who has a monetary interest in a participant, manager or manager’s business.

No individual shall officiate over any bout in which that individual has a monetary interest through any wager or other speculation on the outcome of the event.

No individual shall officiate over any bout in which they are a manager or former manager of a participant.

No individual shall officiate over any bout in which a direct family member – spouse, parent, grandparent or child — is involved as a participant or a manager.

The Athletics Commissioner may extend the definition of family member for a specific event or circumstance depending on the impact that such relationship may have on the integrity of the sport.

A licensed official who is concerned that he or she may have a conflict of interest must immediately report this concern to the Athletics Commissioner and abide by his direction.

Participating in an event while in a conflict of interest or failing to report a potential conflict of interest may result in the cancellation of an official’s license.

All employees of the Office of the Athletics Commissioner and its support functions are also bound by conflict of interest requirements

Robin Black and all his comments about integrity should have an interesting opinion

I posted this previously and heard its being swept under the rug as all things are regarding the Pat Reid saga in Edmonton further to insult Kyle also refereed the Gorney fight as they too have history that went ignored Pat Reid is ruining mma in Edmonton and of course Kyle is being painted the guy who saved the show …what a crock they knew weeks in advance and didn’t give a hoot about the integrity of this sport and now the repercussions of doubt and facts of the unprofessional conduct by two people that know better

Writen by Dr. K? (he had this on the wrong page)

  8. PUCK says:

I can say first hand that Kyle is an “OK” ref. but everyone knows he trained Tim as he would never shut up about it in the past? So the fact this went down is a very poor move by the Edmonton comission and Pat Reid should be held accountable for this clear oversite of the fighters saftey. Kyle would have never stoped Tim and took a point, no way no how. He wants him back on a winning streak so he can corner in the UFC again right? (not like its going to happen but you catch the drift) Thoughts?

  11. Donald Duck says:

Professional administrator known for some of the best decisions to ever take place in MMA:

    – Approved Pride Rules for a show.
    – Disallows Ammy with his rules but sanctions it by not stopping it at shows.
    – Continues to use some of the most brutal refs in MMA

We’ll just add this to the list of issues and wonder how in the heck he’s still making his six figure salary on tax payer’s dollars.

Id have too see the video but the pics sure appear that hes hitting the back of the head and it dosent look as if there much of a positional change to warrent them sneaking through.

  13. Slim says:

Please tell me Pat doesn’t actually make six figures. He probably has some sort of golden parachute deal set up when he finally gets fired.

On a slightly different topic, does anybody have any idea of their drug testing policy? With MFC there was drug testing as per the commission, but this card there was none. Why do all the cards have different rules?
