Powell and Hill to Battle for the Right to Fight for the AFC WW Belt

AFC18Joel Powell and Michael Hill will face each other in the main event of Aggression Fighting Championship 18 on May 19 in Victoria, British Columbia.  The winner of the bout will win the right to face Ryan Ford for the AFC Welterweight title on a July 5th card in Edmonton.

Powell (6-3) will be coming into the fight on the heels of beating George Lockhart by Split Decision at Wild Bill’s NFC 55 event in Atlanta on April 12. The 10th ranked Canadian Welterweight has won five consecutive Welterweight fights including wins over Brandt Dewsbery and Advin Omic.

Michael Hill (5-0) will be Powell’s second consecutive opponent who has been a cast member of The Ultimate Fighter.  Having appeared in TUF 16 where he lost in the quarter-finals, Hill signed with Aggression FC.  In his AFC debut, the undefeated Hill dominated Josh Kitchen in the main event of AFC 15 in Calgary early this year.

The main event fighters will be joined on the card by Middleweights Ryan Janes and David Perron.  Diego Wilson and Miles Anstead are also scheduled to fight.
