Chalk one more for #UFC161 as London, Ontario’s @SammyJstout will throw it down with @IKEVF in a lightweight battle in Winnipeg
Pierson enters the bout on a two fight win streak having defeated Jake Hecht and Lance Benoist. ’The Punisher’ is 3-2 in his five UFC fights and hopes to continue his win streak in the city where he recorded his debut UFC win over Matt Riddle. He was to have faced Rick Story at UFC 158 in Montreal, but had to pull out of that fight.
Pierson’s opponent TJ Waldburger (16-7) is 4-2 in the UFC and is coming into this fight off the heels of triangle choke win over Nick Catone.
London, Ontario’s Sam Stout, a member of Adrenaline Training Center, just beat Caros Fodor at UFC 157 by split decision. His opponent, Isaac Vallie-Flagg, has not lost since 2007. Incredibly, Flagg is coming into this fight having won his last three fights by Split Decision. His last win came over Yves Edwards in his UFC debut.
The two fights join a Bantamweight title main event and a fight card that already includes Rashad Evans, Dan Henderson, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Shogun Rua, and more.
Tickets for UFC 161 will go on sale on Friday, April 12 and presale for UFC 161 will be on Wednesday, April 10 for Fight Club members.
